Long distance running
I have an underactive thyroid - diagnosed at the age of ten - and I haven't experienced any issues with it with regards to running
Yes, it is safe to run.
No-one has ever told me not to!

I too have an underactive thyroid. I take my prescribed thyroxine daily and have had no problems in the 16yrs I've been taking them. Provided you have regular blood checks to check your recommended thyroxine dose......I think you should be ok
Hope your training goes well
