Hi guys, Basical i just switched to a new pair of minimalist shoes Light weight flexible and have changed from Heel striking to forefoot striking. After a few runs i have noticed that my tendonts feel abit tense/stressed, they do not hurt or ache but they feel a bit different. Just s bit worried wether its The new shoes/getting used to using them on my feet.
When i woke up i got a single sharp pain for a second but nothing that felt bad.
Your tendons and muscles need to learn sand adapt to the new stresses they are experiencing. Try swearing the new shoes for 1 mile st the start/ as a warm up for yooath runs until you stop getting the discomfort, then try warm up and cool down for the same amount of time as it took for the initial aches to go away, then increase bit by bit and back off every time you get discomfort.
slow changes will mean a faster transition to forefoot running.
