just to add to the CO2 issue, there were places to buy canisters over there as the expo is reasonable in size, also I think its Swiss Bobby is taking 2 boxes of CO2 so you should be OK.

When I went to Lanza this year they were waiting for the cyclists and they knew the race was on and their policy was this. NO CO2 canisters, you have been warned and if we find them in your bike box after you have said there are none, we won't put the bike on the plane, however this was also after it had gone through the xray machine so you wouldn't have known until you got there and there was no bike.

You only need 2 for the race anyway but I suggest you don't use any to pump up tyres for the race, use a track pump, CO2 in tyres doesn't last long, just long enough to make sure you get home if punctured + a day or so, not the same as normal air.
