Hi all - I am staying in a hotel near paddington and wondered if anyone else was staying or travelling into the start from that area.

Any locals no of any potential travel problems etc that could delay the travel time

thanks in advance

www.tfl.gov.uk will give you the best travel advice.  Line closures also printed in the magazine, e.g. Bakerloo is shut which would have been an easy way to Waterloo East.

I was going to say the same thing - Bakerloo line is closed.  If going by public transport you will have to find other routes.  As Joolska says, check out the tfl website and it will advise you the quickest route.

I am staying near Paddington, but have booked with WRP and have the coach travel to the start within the package.

I am travelling from Paddington.  IT's a shame the bakerloo line is closed.  I think I'm doing circle line to Embankment, then to Charing Cross to pick up train to Blackheath.

Does anyone know - am I better walking from Embankment to Charing Cross or going 1 stop on Northern line?

You might be better walking! It's not far and probably less crowded,

Come out of Embankment and head up Viliers St and you will find Charing Cross on your left (stairs) or you can walk all the way up to the station concourse by turning left at the top of Villiers St
