In a word yes, you will get out of it what you put in. Use the plan you got with the mag or the smartcoach thingy on this website. Any problems and put them on here and wait for the rest of us to help. It sounds scary but it isn't dash. Trut me with training my Gran can run one and she's 89

Congratuations for getting in and enjoy yourself.

The big hill at 13 miles is Tower Bridge !!!

Dash Hound, 7 months is plenty, but get training now!  The better trained you are the more you'll enjoy it on the day.  Build up slowly and make sure you get the long slow runs in.

I agree with DTES - give up now Dash and give me your place

7 months is plenty of time - you'll have a ball!

PS do you need an oversized small (? 46"??) grey fluffy fleece to train in? I have one you can have......

No not enought time defer it until 2010 and train to run round,  not to get round

If I can go from non swimmer, Non bike owner to doing an IM in 9 months.. 7 months to do a marafon is easy.. ..

...  well actually it isn;t easy.. It's damn hard work, day after day of it.. Getting up at 6am to get a run in before work, re-arranging your life round long runs at the weekend.. having a spare hour and going training rather than the pub.. Its tough , hard yukkie....

But if you are going to take up a place from someone who would have done all that, then at least give the people who missed out the respect to do it properly

I didn't think if that.

Dash you are going to get into trouble doing this. Give it up and I'll do it for you. That way you still get your name in the times with a time? Tell you want you can have my unborn children as slaves when I'm able find a blind and deaf girl with no sense of smell? Plus I'll throw in a kitkat as well?

Cake you are incorrigable.......

You can get round, I run this year training just over 3 months using the get round training plan from this site.

TIgerlily - I need a fleece: been check ing on ebay and prices already ridiculous for 2009 fleeces! FInally got a place on my 6th attempt in the ballot (not consecutive as breaks for children!) - I'm very, very excited!!!!!

Dash, yes you can do it, you just have to want to do it enough... it'll be well worth it... as everyone says though, start now!! A few friends have followed Hal Higdon's plans and loved them. Good luck!

I got a place in the ballot for the first time too, yippee!!!
