welcome back Shimmy; it's a bit quiet atm but maybe a few lurkers will re-appear!

06/08/2013 at 21:48

SHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've often wondered where you were!

Yes our thread is quiet, and the forum is a bit duller than it was, I think Facebook might have done for it.

I will put the word out

I've changed my job too, similar but a much better set-up. OG is in California on hols, Tger is in Meexico on hols/daughters wedding.

Do you remember the entire company being banned from internet because I was on the forum all the time?

Hello Jim!

grrr no notifications

Hi Mr P, glad to hear you have a new job, you were hating the old one.  Sooo, does the new one allow facebook access?

I've noticed that the forum is now quite as it used to be.  Still the same die hard faces though.

I've got me a facebook thing (avoided it up to now) be good to catch up.  Much has happened in the past 3 years ... hmmmm

07/08/2013 at 20:35

OMG is it that long?

Yes I did hate that job, and the f*******g w******r IT misfit wierdo, but I'm not bitter.

so what races are people doing? my calendar currently suggests...

  • Wolds 10 mile
  • Lincoln 5k
  • East Coast Classic 10k
  • Palma Marathon
  • Worksop 1/2 Marathon

though currently it's only the marathon and 5k with entry forms filled in!

Wow! I have been away from running for about 3 years. I am so chuffed this thread is still alive and well. Fingers crossed I get aplace at London in April. My training starts tomorrow. I hope this is not another false dawn for me!!

13/08/2013 at 13:42

that's a pretty good list, OG, enjoy the mileage!

13/08/2013 at 13:43

good luck Ripped, hope you're able to find that inner motivation and build up the miles strongly and steadily. Lots of hills and lots of miles. Fun fun fun!

Hi all, and welcome back Shimster, it's been a long long time. The VLM14 magazine are falling through peoples letter boxes. I've had mine and it's a SORRY.

After being out of running since June with a calf injury, I started back and have a back problem now.

Hope everyone is well.

08/10/2013 at 21:21

rejected from VLM, as usual.

3:46:45 at the Nottingham marathon (bit of a suprise entry as a training run!) so really happy - 25 minutes better than May's PB!

Still on a long PB streak - that's about 14 races in a row now, though to continue it through Palma and the Worksop 1/2 will require something close to a miracle!

Have fun all, be good, run well!

Shimmy and Puffy!  I cannot resist: I, too, am back!  Like you two, I am also in a new work situation: an excellent one so far.

Hello to all people on 3:45 whom I do not know: I was on this thread in the heyday of Shimmy, Puffy and a number of others. Am currently into ultras (did NDW50 last year in 11hours 25 mins).

Current race diary:  Amsterdam, er, next week!  London 2014 I'M IN!, NDW50 again (May), and possibly Chicago in the autumn.

29/10/2013 at 17:08

3:45:56 at Palma, a PB by just under a minute

1:42:17 at Worksop, a PB by about 2 mins 35!

29/10/2013 at 17:40

Hi, I haven't been on here for a long time. Did 4:05 pb at Houston marathon last January, trying to get under 4 hrs next January, when I will have had my 60'th bday. Chicago qualifying time is 3:55 and that is probably a step too far.

I will check out previous messages.

It's great to see that some people are still around. I have now done 109 marathons and still enjoy them, although I need to sort out quad pain during the last few miles to get back under 4 hours.

There are lots of running-related discussion groups on facebook, so please PM your address if you would like to join in some of those I belong to.
