Is there anyway i can find out how much each charity asks for in sponsorship (without contacting them) for the FLM cos i know the differ quite a lot.

Try this link from the FLM website, it lists all the charities. You'll have to cpy and paste the link.

thanks for the ideas you two, sluggy your site is great cos then i can see how much the charitys expect you to raise. Thats just what i needed.

i work part time for a really worth while charity called the Rosemary Foundation, Hospice in the home care. I would love to run and raise funds for them in the next LM. They are prepared to buy a golden Bond for me. Would this guarantee a place for me ?

unless they already have a golden bond place then no - there is a waiting list of charities trying to get them.

The last I heard, the waiting list was so long for charities to buy bond places they had stopped adding new names to the list........

Golden Bond places can be anything from about £800 upwards I think. However the charities I have contacted are more inthe region of £1500 to £2000.

This will give you a list of all charities with bond places. If you email them they will send you the forms to apply for a Golden Bond place (and also tell you how much you'd need to raise).

I am going to apply to a couple of charities and also enter through the general ballot (if I happen to get more than one place I will make sure I let the appropriate people know!)

thanks for all that. I will follow up on the suggestions and of course enter the general ballot (there is hoping !!!!!!!!)
