Why would they want to ? People can defer places till next year if they have to.

Christopher - why are you in desperate need if one?

Find a better marathon.

Maybe you can ask Mo to give up his spot ......... Ive heard he might not even bother trying to finish the thing.

Out of interest, how will you register without the ID of the holder. Bent Mickey or Ronnie the Fence down my way can knock you up a passport or driving licence at reasonable rates.

I get the impression that Chris might be unawares as to the various issues involved and is thinking its just a case of someone handing over their place and him putting his name down instead.

Otherwise he would have been aware of point 2.2 in their 'elf and safety code.

2.2 Participation in the Event is personal to you; you are strictly prohibited from swapping, selling or transferring or offering to sell, swap or transfer the place in the Event or allowing any other person to wear the Event number. Any breach of this Condition shall render the entry void. If you are found to be in breach of this Condition we reserve the right to exclude you from participation in future Events

I'm sure you are sunshine, but I'm not sure the public really want to know.

These are my favourite threads. 'I'd like to run London. Give me your place'

I think that Mo only running half of it is a stupid idea... But maybe he and Christopher could do it together as a relay... Or something.

What makes me laugh is that everyone has to bust a gut raising a couple of grand for charity as well as training etc ....... then Virgin go 'Hey we'll piss £250k up the  wall just so Mo can use the event as a training run ......... how many extra beds in a cancer ward would that pay for?' ....... and Im sorry I know that sounds harsh, but considering VLM are so relentlessly about the charity aspect, this seems a huge waste of money, and its hardly like it needs more publicity.

He wants to run a Marathoon?  What is this?

Just run 13.1 - 26.2 seeing as Mo isn't doing it!

DF3 -- I totally agree... It's almost farcical.

The best part is Mo's reasoning ....... so he can get a feel for it .......... hahahahaha!!! Yeah of course Mo ....... of course ............ as my favourite saying goes 'Dont piss in my glass and then tell me its champagne.'

There's no one on this forum who wouldn't take ??250000 for doing half of the VLM, so fair play to Mo for managing to strike the deal.

Maybe Virgin are coming from the angle that Mo is really hot potatoes at the moment and so his appearance will generate money?

Dunno, but I'll be there again, you may all pay me an appearance fee if you wish.

At this point it's hard (for an idiot like me) to see how his appearance will generate money. Oh, for sure I'd take ??250,000 for running half of it but I wouldn't come up with some wanky excuse to try and cover the fact that I was obviously just doing it for the money.
