As if the stress of running a marathon isn't enough, I am now begining to panic about getting to the start line on time.

I understand that there is a train from Guildford at 6.55am (the first one of the day) which takes about 40 mins. Then I am told that at all the underground stations there are horrendous queues, and that it can take a very long time to get to the start line.

If anybody has previous experience of getting from this area to FLM, could you please let me know what you did???? My start is the Green Start.

thanks for that, I will look into that, I am just off out, but it has my priority attention when I get back.

Yes - trains to all 3 starts leave from Waterloo East, so all you have to do is cross the main concourse at Waterloo and go up the escalator - just follow the crowds. You don't have to buy a ticket.

Will there be huge queue's at Waterloo East at 8.00 am do you think. Or will it be ok?

so its a [posterior/i] now;)

I live in Guildford. I have checked National Express coaches but the earliest gets to Victoria at 7.55. So either you need to drive up to Surbiton where the trains to Waterloo start running at 7am-journey time 30 minutes and they are about every 15 minutes-or I'll see you on the 6.55 from Guildford.

Don't panic too much. All you need to do is walk a long way down the platform at Waterloo East so you can get on the first couple of carriages. Most peeps tend to hang around at place where ramp meets patform so try to join at most crowded part of train. Stay calm. Also printed timetables are not adhered to so ignore them.
