Lots of fun to be had for all

For those of you who might not have been around last year, let me introduce you to the fun and support that is Mudchute

Runners

Sign up here if you want to see a friendly face at Mile 16.  We will have a custom support station waiting for you where you can leave gels, drinks, food, or anything else you think you might need.  Some basics will also be provided such as jelly babies, jaffa cakes, hugs, cheers and as much motivation and encouragement as you could possibly need.  Myself and the team will do anything we possibly can to get you to the finish however fast or slow you are.

Supporters

We can only provide support to the runners if we have a team of dedicated volunteers who can help to set up and run the support station throughout the day.  We will need some people who can dedicate the whole day but others are welcome to join us for a few hours and friends and family of runners are welcome to pop along for an hour while waiting for their loved one to come by.

Post Event Party

Tradition dictates that after the last runner has come through (and not before, however slow they are) the supporters head off to Chandos in Trafalgar Square to meet up with the runners, share stories, hugs, tears and to rehydrate before heading home.  The advantage of this is that you all avoid the busiest times on the tube and the runners get treated as the heros that they are for a couple of hours.

I can guarantee that there will be a lot of fun for everyone but this event is dependent on the good will and time of the supporters and without you we cannot make it happen.

So who wants to put their names down?

What an excellent idea. I am running, would be great to get in on this.

I need to check with RW Towers when they are fully functional after Christmas but in previous years they have allowed people to leave things at their stand at Expo and the support team collect and transport the items to Mudchute line.

More details will be posted out nearer the time.  At the moment I need to gauge interest as if we don't have enough supporters then we won't be able to provide the service that we have done in previous years

The supporters will be divided into teams.  Each team will be allocated some runners, so each runner will have two or three people specifically looking out for them.  For fast runners and those after a time we aim to provide a slick service where the runner doesn't have to stop.  Those that want to can hang around for photos, hugs, beers and whatever else they want.

Hello! Can I join? I am low-maintenance, given that I completely failed to see your banners, balloons and cheering crowds of forumites at all last year, even though I spent an entire mile looking out for you. Ideally all I need is for someone to yell 'come on Lit, get a f***ing move on you lazy cow!' (or similar).

Not convinced I want to run it that many times! (or that slowly!)

I've run London 8 times and only seen the RW group once!

Aha! I thought it was just me being thick, but on Mr Puffy's and Minni's evidence it must be them being invisible.

EDIT: but, erm, do still sign up, people!

I ran London 2 years ago and spotted you, they are on the opposite side to mudchute station just by the only speed bumps in the road on the london marathon, so if u hit a speed bump turn to your right and you should be able to see the support crew

I would say that they are nearer to 17-18mile and I welcomed them when I did it 2 years ago, I had my jaffa cakes, my gels given me, hugs kisses and it was a real great lift

I couldnt however find anyone in Chandos after and I walked round for ages ( I was one of the slower runners ) so if there if there is a meeting point in Chandos please let me know as i was gagging for a drink and ended up walking in and out

Anyway I'm doing it again so I look forward to seeing you at Mudchute and hopefully this year in Chandos

It doesn't like your name. You'll have to just write it out in words. It's that symbol in the middle that I can't type in here.
