right ..just to clarify I'm not stating that the course is wrong because of my garmin....etc etc etc..

just being curious.whose garmin measured the most..........i spent my time running the outside of the course, giving a high 5 to all the kids......and my garmin measured 26.61 miles........so do i get the RW prize for running the longest marathon on sunday

26.46 - but would have lost signal in Westferry and the tunnel on Lower thames street, so your still in pole position...

No you don't!! Mine showed 26.66,for some reason mine was out of sync with the mile markers fron very early on. Didn't make any difference to me cos I was 20 minutes too slow for a PB anyway!

My Garmin showed 26.46 miles and I lost signal in the tunnel.... so you're still first

I think I covered about 30 miles on Sunday thanks to TFL being a bit poo.
And that includes squeezing through the Greenwich foot tunnel with thousands of my sweatiness friends who don't know what a queue is.
I really fear for the Olympics if this was a test weekend. I'd give them a D-

Mine was showing .05 of a mile over by about mile 10, .10 by mile 12 and .30 by 18. Think it finished at about 26.6 something but will check when I get home. It was really doing my head in!

EDIT: Just remembered I didn't turn it off when I finished and it was still going 20 mins later so it'll have some daft distance on it, had to text my sister to confirm my time ...

26.43 for me Felt longer

. Garmin all over the place in the tunnels. My garmin was out of sync with the mile markers from the first mile. Towards the end of the race when my garmin indicated another mile i still had 2 minutes to run to reach the course mile marker.

Mine finished at 26.73......I did try and follow the blue line but it was impossible!

Just to add another sample point, mine came to 26.57.

Laps were turning over about 30m before the mile markers from near the start, but the plot looks good all the way through to South Quay and even follows the road through Westferry tunnel. Then, all over the shop through Canary Wharf before getting back on the roads at Billingsgate Market and through to the end.

Two years ago at London mine recorded 27.16, I felt like running a bit further to claim an ultra!

Just to prove it mine came in at 26.88

but still enjoyed the whole day, even tho i seemed to have run further than 26.2miles according to my garmin, well it felt like it anyway lol

@Liverbird - When I was going through the finish point I overhead two policemen saying "if this is anything to go by for the Olympics - we're f***ked". On some parts it was the "trial" for the security measures etc.

For me the mile markers were ok but they started to get more "out" around Mile 11/12

26.92 - I can offer no explanation as to why it is so much higher, but I did stop for some time in the tunnel on the Embankment for a rather futile attempt to stretch out my calves.
