Is it just me - or do other agree but nothing else hits the spot like a bottle or pint of cold beer after a long run.  Others take the micky - but after a long run when I feel tired and washed out - exhausted - no amount of sports drinks, orange or water perks me up like a cold beer - I can go from feeling physically sick - to fully recovered after a pint of Lancaster Blonde - or bottle of Bud.

Will there be any in our goody bag?  Is there something in beer that does the job - although a Earl Grey tea isn't bad.

Shandy. Dont ask me why, but a pint of shandy tastes incredible after a long run!

A nice cup of tea is all I tend to look forward to.

Yes, there has been a can of London Pride in the goody bag in recent races.

The best one I ever had was hot sweet lemon tea at the end of the Venice marathon.  It was exactly what I needed and got me recovered astonishingly quickly.  I always struggle to find enough to drink at the end of the London race, which is ironic given the extravagance of the provision of drinks during the race.

The last couple of years there's been a can of London Pride in the goody bag at the expo.  Nothing of that sort in the post-race bag, but I can't imagine that a can of beer that's been sitting in the sun all morning would be too much fun.

Guinness!

Well if it's full of iron, it must be good for the blood, ergo it must be good for you ... right?

I normally get a bit of a tea head on after long runs .... white, sweet and buckets of the stuff.

I also eventually get sensible and have a shake .. the SiS ones are quite good.

Being a tad more serious ... I drink Cherryactive after runs, supposed to help your musces repair better. Tastes vile, mind ...
