running clubs - Spring Marathon

Hi there, I'm running my first Marathon in April and was hoping for some suggestions for a good, friendly running club to join in or near Blackheath (London)? I love running but am not a die-hard, superfast runner so I need a club that welcomes relaxed runners and Marathon novices. Any suggestions would be really appreciated, thanks :)

Blackheath harriers immediatly spring to mind but there are probably some others not too far away.

Blackheath Harriers are now based in Hayes, nr Bromley, hopefully not too far for you to travel. A club worth traveling to if you are serious about running.
