RW Forum 6 - Just Finish! - Spring Marathon

"I've got a London marathon place . A ballot place too - been applying for the last 4 years, and this time I'm in.
I've never run further than 8 miles (some time back in March, before I twisted a knee, which is also fine now). I would absolutely love to be mentored, assisted, helped and advised, and to have someone else's voice in my head when I set out for a plod at 5.15am in the mornings

I have been building up for a few months, working back up to running for 30 mins, 4 times a week. I bought the non-runners marathon book as it seemed most sensible and approachable, and I'm following the training plan in that. It's a 16 week plan but I started at 18 weeks to give myself a 2 week breathing space for snow or injury.

Just remember other people's 'just finish' is a PB for the likes of us.

. Remembered halfway round my run and am now tapping away on the iPad because Mr USB is using the laptop to mark essays.

. And yes, I'm a lady (ha ha ha...okay, female will do....), its short for Helen.

I am sure you'll be thrilled to know that I rested for most of last week, pulled my calf doing 7 miles on a trail around a reservoir! All seems fine now though, and I'm planning 3 miles tomorrow.
