Hello all, having  a nightmare couple of days at work.  

Great running again Vik...17 tomorrow then, whats your target pace for it?

I was going to do 5 easy, 5 at marathon pace, 5 easy then last 2 marathon pace stole it of my friend at work.... does it sound ok or stoopid?

hope work calms down FF, I personally am hoping it snows this week as I'm off and won't have to deal with the fall out at the airport..... but on seconds thoughts snow in my bridrsmaid dress doesn't sound too fun either.....

Right this was was defintely one for the head as well as the legs.... I didn't enjoy any of it-  it was cold, windy and I came far too close for my liking to 50 deer...

So the plan was 5 easy

They were herding deer from one part of the park to the other with a landrover.... cue 50 or so deer hurtling towards me so I had to duck through at gate into a fenced off part of the park until they'd passed and forgot to stop the garmin!  Seriously I don't mind deer when they are a substatial distance from me and NOT moving!!  I'm a bit of a wimp really but after the 'Beast of Bushy' making it into the paper I've kept my distance

Baiscally I wanted to stop from about mile 10- popped into Simon's work to use the toilet and grab some water and I really question why the hell I was put myself through this!

But got on with it and only really enjoyed the last two miles as it felt good to know that I stll had something in the tank!!

Seriously Vik, you should be extremly happy with those times, the MP splits are really, really good.

I'd agree that 90% of any long run is in the head. Alot of people have the ability but lack the mental strength to carry on.

What was your total time? and the deer excuse is a new one on me..

Got a great couple of days at work now in the Olympic park, except it is going to be freezing.

Had a 2k swim today with my new garmin that counts laps of the pool and number of strokes, so now have data coming out of my ears!!!1

it was 3.01.44 the plan says 17 in 3hrs so I'm happy with that

Hello,

Another lurker poking her head round the door! I'm probably in the wrong place because Vik's times seem crazy-fast (faster than some over on the sub 4:30 thread too) but I'm doing Edinburgh at the end of May and aiming to better the 5:31 I got in London 2 years ago. I'm having a go at the RW Ultimate 5-hour plan but it doesn't start for another 2 weeks.

Glad the training is going well Vik - at this rate you'll be getting a sub 4:30!

Well that was the week from hell...soooo busy at work and then just when it's going ok the weather comes along and spoils everything.

Hope Vik's head is not too sore.

So who ran in the snow then?

Managed 14 on a very early sat morning and i swear it got colder as the run went on.

Cut back week for me, so some swimming and a light turboing for me.

Might venture to my first Parkrun on saturday

Hey all!!

Hope you're all enjoying the snow.....

FF- hope you have a better week this week- I'm not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow dealing with angry passengers

The wedding was awesome apart from nearly getting snowed in at the recpetion and having to navigate along country roads in a snow storm- and our taxi drivers idea of driving in the snow was to put his foot down and rev the engine- I thought my other half was going to drag him out the derivers seat and do it himself!!

Off out in a few minutes for my speedwork 9 x 400 meters!!

will post up the rest of the weeks plan when I get back!!

felt really good to get out after splurging over the weekend!!

 Been batch cooking all afternoon to try and save some pennies and to get rid of some of the evil ready meals I take to work so the house smells lovely!

so on my plan is

wednesday- 6 easy

thursday- 19 LSR

Saturday or Sunday (work depending) 6 marathon pace

sound ok FF? what's everyone else got on their plans?

Delurks with a completely deranged question for everyone.

I'm currently seriously training to try and get a sub 1:50 at RHM in 8 weeks. (Current PB 1:54)

So if I had an option on a place for Brighton mara 2 week's later, is it too late to start training for it? Longest run I've done lately is 10m, last HM was end October,longest run ever was 16m in 2010 I think!!

I'm doing a 10m race that has a 20m option, this Sunday; was wondering whether to race the 10m, see how I feel and if alive, bimble the second lap with my running partner (who is training for Brighton but running less than me at the moment) and if I survive, take the place....Any thoughts or does this way madness and injury lie......???

My current plan has 5 runs most weeks- intervals, steady, easy, LSR and one other- if I amalgamated 2 into longer LSRs......dunno.

(RW Garmnin sub 1:50 plan....)

Advice from sane people please.....

what's your training been like sincejan Foxy- I know you've been hitting some big numbers.....

FF is probably the man to speak to!!    Oh and I thought you said you'd never do one??

I've run 156m so far this year, so about 30m/week plus a bit of mild x-t, but nothing longer than 10m. I'll wait to here what FF has to say.

 And yes I know that Vik........having a bit of a meltdown and wondered if this was a solution!!

You're not too late to train for Brighton FL, you sound like you've got a good base. Not sure about racing a 10 miler then doing a second lap though! Sounds a bit manic, I'm usually spent after a race. I'm sure FF will have The Answer!

Hope it's going well Vik...I've joined the "just get round" thread. Your MP is my 8K pace (bows down in awe...) keep it up!!!
