I'm always positive, you know me! I will be GGGGreat. Like Tony the Tiger you mean? (a relative of Tigger? )
Race is 11am tomorrow, so should post 12pm. One running club pal came 2nd last year by 12 seconds, so hoping he can win too. Sub 35 mins for him.

Shoes are these ones. Very very light. even have drainage holes to let water drain out. Half the weight of my normal Sauconys.

Tried them today, a few miles along beach path which is part of course, then some of club 0.5m intervals. Last time I did these at 2:50-2:55 , this time 2:45-2:55 (not all flat out). Felt very good.

Enjoy your 20. Club long run is part trail and really enjoyable. Have fun Gazelle!

Think course is a little short 0.1m? but whilst flat it has different surfaces, so harder to run than just road

I have a new mantra

And also even scared the daylights of one of club super runners by catching him at 5miles... Funny. He's done 3:06 for marathons.

More later.

Hope your 20 went well. And everyone else.

Great.  My browser just crashed and I lost all my post

Basically, the upshot was great time, FRTC.  Loving the new racing flats.

Gazelle, great to hear the running mojo's back!  Get in there and give it some.

Brolish, I hope the long run in the heat went well.  I hope you took it easy and stayed hydrated.

Scuba T/Juggler, I hope you're doing OK.  Not heard from you, Scuba, for a while unless I've missed it....

Went to podiatrist today and I need new orthotics - ££££££££  Grizzly and irritated, but if it gets me back running again......  Nothing more to report, really, back to physio tomorrow and then podiatrist on Thur for a fitting.  Rest day today, spin tomorrow, core and S+C.  Same old same old..........

Oh well, we got tickets yesterday for the F1 in Abu Dhabi in November so that's something to look forward to

Wow such a great pb FRTC You must be so pleased with yourself, I'm looking forward to your race report.

SS Hopefully spending a little/lot on orthotics will be the key to having a successful running season, my fingers and toes are crossed for you.

I wore my new off road shoes today and they are so light. I was going to run 12mile off road and make it up to 20mile on the road, but we got carried away and ended up doing 16miles off road total gain was 572m so It was very hilly. The total running time was 2hr 48min so I decided not to do the 4miles on road as it would mean that I would be running for about 3hr 30min.  My mojo is back and I'm feeling positive again It's amazing how the time and miles go by when running with others I should do it more often.

How did your long run Brolish?

09/09/2012 at 19:53

Hello Juggler hope you are well.

SSheep- hope the orthotics work, if they do they're worth all the ??????.
Gazelle- glad to hear the mojo's back and well done on your long run. I had a horrible run today, it was baking and I set off around 12 so much too late. Chose a rather hilly route as well around Richmond park to make sure that I have easy access to water but I really didn't need the hills in this weather! Anyway I managed 20m rather than 21 with a few water stops. It's much cooler now (typical) and is looking cooler for next week which is the main thing.

This is terrible. I just read on Minni's thread that Shaggy passed away on Monday. He had a heart attack.
09/09/2012 at 22:48

oh not that is terrible.

he was only on the other day?

absolutely gutted.

10/09/2012 at 08:31

What???  Oh good grief, that is so terrible, absolutely shocking.  Brolish, which thread is it?  I would like to drop them a quick line to say how sorry I am.

Forum 6- sub 3:30 minni vs Dubai dave
I've texted gazelle yesterday but she hasnt got back. She must be very upset. It's awful.
10/09/2012 at 08:43

Yes, I'm upset but Gazelle must've been very close, 6 months of mentoring.

Hugs to all & families, running can wait for another time when it's important.

RIP Shaggy

They will be sorting out a donation to Shaggy's running club.  If anyone would like to join in, PM Minni.

I just can't believe it.  How can you one day be so full of life and plans for the future and positive attitude and then the next day be gone.
