O4S-at least I now know everyone is crazy here, I feel at home

DD-that age grading is excellent but still doesnt make you a teenager as in the case of O4S's results

Chick-very tough sessions-Im convinced that speed can come from lots of aerobic miles run...I keep asking where did that come from too?

FRC-sorry I need your positive can do approach , saying that how can you say you wont be the first to drop out when dropping out is not an option?

MrZ-is that tapir swimming in FRCs bit of the Thames hes running in this weekend?

Kfc-prehensile? At least its not pornographic like the last one.I thought it was Channel swimmers who greased up? Did you swim in that cold water lido championship in London that was featured on TV last week? Are any of them warm water?

21k  TM session including Interval session done 6x5mins@15kmph with 2.5mins recov at 11kmph. Had planned to do only 5 but pushed for 6 in the end. On the evidence of this a sub 40 10k is not on the cards anytime soon.

kfc-will you be using telemark skis or cross country style?im always amazed by skiers methodically sliding up the pistes mant think too steep to ski down

Bro-your heavy legs will be the after effects of the boarding and running followed by a 10 hour flight. It will soon go.

Minni-not having been spread sheet trained I was wondering if you might add these to the list for me when you happen to have a spare moment. Thanks -

10 Feb Southport Mad Dog 10k -as near 40 mins as I can

17March Liverpool Half Marathon-time unsure if will use as MP run otherwise sub 90mins

21April VLM- sub 3.15

19th May Crosby Aquathlon -no time other than faster than last year

ah nevermind - thats Southport not Stockport

That was by far the worst website i've ever seen!

Nice reps there 2old!

Talked myself into a 3 mile recovery run this afternoon squeezed in between clients to see if it helped my tired calfs and for the sake of janwhythehelldidiput5runstastic as I am on a course all day tomorrow then off to see Reading get beat by Chelsea! But they are still stiff
29/01/2013 at 15:46

Updated the spreadsheet.  Ran into work this morning and now faced with running back

Can anyone explain how I appear to have booked a cycling trip with at least 80,000ft of ascent??????????????????

29/01/2013 at 15:46

MrZ- I will tell my mate who is one of the race organisers what you think of their web site, but being a forthright sort of person he is likely to respond in a traditional Anglo Saxon language. Thanks for the secretarial assistance. Stockport isnt tht far away from Southport anyway

29/01/2013 at 15:48

OS-cos your craaaaazy

AA-si it your calfs or Reading thats still stiff? The latter I think. Recovery runs are hell.

29/01/2013 at 16:14

agree 2old - my recovery run was dreadful . I think they are hell coz we do them inbetween hard sessions - another session on already tired legs would be even more hellish. Or so I keep telling myself

O4S: nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuts!!!!!

29/01/2013 at 17:24

O4S- anyway what are you cycling up? Everest?

Chick- you're right about recovery runs but having never bothered with them before I'm starting to see the benefits of them .

29/01/2013 at 17:43
I think I'm too tired to do my 1400m reps tonight (what kind of distance is that anyway!) so will probably opt for a mlr instead and to the intervals tomorrow. It's wet now.
29/01/2013 at 18:11
Minni- P&D don't put much store in intervals anyway. It's the tempo and MP runs that they seem to like. I think Mora was suggesting that when he said MLRs were less important too with him emphasising the regular 10 mile plus run which I assume will be at a challenging pace. It's always wet ( except when its snowing) . Don't forget you've worked hard over the last month so there's nothing wrong with feeling tired. My four days ski break whilst not restful revived me.
29/01/2013 at 18:12
Don't blame you Minni.

I don't like recovery runs which is why I don't do them often!

Hi everyone...

You want crazy? I had to queue for a treadmill in the hotel gym at 4.30 this morning!!! What's with that? I had an excuse - my body clock was still on UK time, but what about everyone else?  Anyway, I did a slow 6 miles, still feeling a bit rough but better than the weekend.  Hopefully tomorrow morning I'll pick up the speed a bit.

Right now I am in the middle of a sales conference with about 500 colleagues - it's all VERY American, full of go, go, go and not at all restrained as we Brits would be . Nice hotel anyway.

Minni - 1400m is an odd distance for reps. May as well make it 1600?
