So that's a "no" then is it? Don't know why but I thought you were a north Kent boy which would have made the distances a bit more manageable, even if getting back home would be a pain in the proverbial.

Keir - haven't got a full plan for the HM yet. I assume the guv'nor will advise me on a week by week basis as for Loch Ness. Definitley a bonus to be working to a plan that's adaptable and reactive to circumstances as opposed to an "off the shelf" job. Not up for a 35 miler early doors then - are you man or mouse !

I'm enjoying catching up with the race reports (well done SG), weekly summary (Ant) and low mileage but good time info (BotF). Impressed with the number of long runs and double-figure runs going on today.

I've been trying to secretly catch up with this thread as I've been out most of the day. Now the rest of the family is back from the south coast and the pre-Monday morning work-panic has set in, the treadmill of life has restarted at its usual fast pace (oh what a cliche!).

Hi Joolska. I have popped in a little to the sub3 thread a few times but it was always too scary and fast moving in there, but I have seen your name there. Hope to pick your brains too as things go on.

Marshalling was great fun today. The race was delayed due to ice, but luckily not cancelled. I enjoyed the cheering and shouting, nobody got hurt and no cars crashed where I was supervising and I had a good catch-up in the pub with various forumites after.

Good time there CC2 given your recent ill health - a show of your fitness if you can pull that kind out time out of the bag. Can you post a picture of the stopwatch please - you've got me intrigued!

Didn't get my LSR done in daylight today - went to the cinema with my 2 boys this morning to see “Megamind” - quite good really. I still can't get over the quality of the digital animation these days. Then this afternoon did some more Xmas shopping - finally all done.
So yet again went out at 8.00pm tonight after putting the boys to bed to do my LSR. Managed 15 miles again this week starting off at a steady 8.15 pace for the first few miles, then just got a bit quicker each mile. Final 3 miles were at PMP and they felt okay, but I was glad to finish at was a bitt too late. When I start my plan I'll be doing these first thing in the morning, both to have more time to do them and also getting used to going out for a run after a nights kip & breakfast.

Some good training and "non-racing" this weekend. CC2 - a 1.38.xx non-raced HM whilst chatting all the way round is pretty impressive.

Good luck to all those starting 18 week P&D plans today. I guess if you follow the plan to the letter then it is actually a rest or cross-training day today. What a strange start to a program? For my part, as I do my long runs on Saturdays, I'll be bringing all my training days forward by one, so I've got a 9 miler with 4 at 15k/HM pace.

Keir: I'm heading back to my home village, which is just south of Maidstone, for Christmas. If I can make family arrangements, travel plans etc. fit in, then I'll try and get to the 10k. I've bought myself some Adizero Tempos for Christmas, so a race would be the ideal time to try them out for the first time (or have I got that a little wrong?! )

KR: Boston is Monday 18th April. The day after VLM I believe.

Use [shift]&[return] at the end of a line rather than just [return]. This sends you to the next line as opposed to the next paragraph.

KR - hats off to you for a long run at 8pm. Was tucking into a rather delicious roast chicken with plenty of trimmings at that time!

Am still trying to work out Plan B if I can't make it to London because of holidays - I'm booked up for the late April Bank Holiday weekend as well, so the earliest date for an alternative would be the weekend of 7/8 May - anyone any experience of the Shakespeare Marathon?

9 relaxed miles for me this morning - dark and rather misty in places.

I also went for 9 dark and misty miles this moening, kept the pace down to 7:37mm. Hopefully this means I'll be up for doing some intervals tomorrow.

Where's a good place to get cut-price trainers these days? I've used Wiggle and ProDIrect Running in the past. Will they have post-Xmas sales, do you think?

Excellent long runs going on over weekend and good non race performance by Speedy. Looks like you're all raring to go with your training plans. Jane you were wrong about me getting married in Cuba but right about OH enjoying long lie ins.

8 miles steady for me this morning at an avg of 7:02., average was brought down by last 2 miles of 6:54 and 6:52 as annoyed at nearly being run over by driver not looking. She's seen me, she's seen me oh shit she has n't.

Ant - I've done Shakespeare twice, the course is OK a couple of hills but nothing too bad and the last 5 miles is the greenway, a very straight cycle track. Well organised,about 3000 take part including the half, and plenty to do in Stratford for anyone watching. I had a mare there this year, I found it hard going due to the heat and I see they've moved it to May.

This slow hilly off road running I have been doing in mud and ice is paying off-went for a 5miler last night on a proper running surface for the first time in ages and was flying along. Shame I wasn't wearing a garmin or watch to time it but a great feeling nonetheless. Backed that up with a little 4miler today.

Ant- as a fellow waverider wearer I have been looking for some cheap new ones for a while now with no luck. Because of the new model there seem to be very few bargains out there. I was toying with the idea of switching to asics cumulus-ever tried them?

Good early morning runs there but a mention to Barry who looks in fine form. Well done SG on a controlled hm.
