For anyone trying to crack the 3h15 barrier anywhere in the world
Just a quick pop in to say good luck to Fraser and RaceJase at Edinburgh this Sunday. KINAVIT!!!
TAR - I can pretend to be a roughty tuffty builder but I am the solemn faced suity looking at drawings. My name is also Johnny, and I am desk bound - you got me off to a t.
Good luck to the thread guys at Ed this w/end - and anywhere else for that matter.
OO - nice running - It is trying to run at that pace that has made me re evaluate where I am at.
Ant - Whilst its annoying, you are already on the road to recovery. Good luck with it!
Forgot to say earlier -
Birch - I'll shift up a bit, there's plenty of room on the bench...hope you get yourself sorted soon. A wise decision to stop and get that knee looked at.
OO - Great race, nice pic.
very nice 10k indeed OO. Midweeker too.....
Thanks for all the good luck wishes - will attempt to pull off a performance worthy of the thread
MsE nice photo
OO Very impressive race and nice photo
Ant you must have had the same swiming lessons as me. The road to recovery starts with but a single step, or 7 euro jiggle.
I can't muster any interest for the torch thingy either.
90% decided not to attempt an autumn marathon. I may look at a 10k schedule at I have still to break 40mins, I think I need to improve on that time to get anywhere near my mara goal.
Great 10K result, OO, and you look like you are just cruising in that photo too! <dreams of sub-38 one day>
By popular demand, here is the much requested photo.... <drum roll>
Bet you are regretting asking now aren't you?
Shoot me now as I am getting a bit carried away now with this photo uploading business. Sorry. But look at me chicking this chap! And you see those two girls behind me? It transpires that they are sub 19 5K/38 min 10K runners and I was delighted to put my foot down in the last half mile and outsprint them. Annoyingly, because my chip timing went awry, my gun time is my officical time and shows them running slightly faster than me.
MsE, well done on the finish. He really does have a bit of a look on...
Best of luck to this weekend's racers. I'll be there cheering anyone I recognise. But, now that I think of it, by 11:59 (which is when I expect RJ and Fraser to be in a dead heat across the line), I'm apt to be in the vicinity of the Stewart's beer tent getting sozzled.
I'm not bitter that the weather forecast looks fab. Seriously.
Rennur - the day Jase and I are in a dead heat will see a very large number of flying porcines. Will you be positioned at the finish line somewhere then ?
More cracking piccies MsE. That chap racing with a small fluffy rhodent (presumably a skunk or some other North American native creature) balanced on his knob surely wasn't entering in to the true spirit of naked racing though ?.I wonder if he back combs that to get it quite so full and voluptuous
That chap on the finish line is NOT happy at getting chicked either
OO - I'm benched - will be spectating . . . MsE - super pic - btw, what the hell is the "chickee" doing with long sleeve top and leggings on? . . . and carrying gloves ! The shadows indicate a high sun . . .
Fraser - Oh, come on - it's got to be 2:49:59, surely?
MsE - Re: your first pic: what a lot of fuss over such a little thing! Your second pic is one of the greatest ever seen on this thread, imho. You can almost hear that bloke you're chicking going "Gaaaahhhh-daaaayyyyahhhmmm!".
Is it acceptable to fall in love with your physiotherapist?
think you mean Ant, Moof - I have no physiotherapist . . .
First club session in probably about a year for me tonight: 4 x (0.5M, 2 min, 0.25M, 90 secs). Happy to report 0.5M were 6m/m or under and the 0.25M were between 5.30 and 5.40m/m. For me that's flying! Quite tempted to only peak at 50-55mpw for my autumn half marathon and 10M races to really give me a chance of having fresh legs for the faster sessions...
