For anyone trying to crack the 3h15 barrier anywhere in the world
one can only imagine...
Part way through marathontalk: Minni and RJ both on the podium, one held onto top spot, the other fell back to second.

Lorenzo - we'll have to be extra careful when posting at the same time now!!!
Too right - I held off responding for that reason!!!
Red, white and blue dress code at work so sitting at my desk in a Union Jack cycling top and very fetching red wig!!
May - 52 miles - 0 in last 19 days; 500 for year - about half of where i usually am by now. Knee does seem to be responding to rest/exercises etc. Decided to (knee permitting) motivate myself by aiming for a low 20's parkrun by my 58th b'day (August). Managed 20:32 last Dec after autumn mara + XC season - low 20's wd be almost the age grade equivalent of my PB, but the point is having something a bit different to focus on. My last run was a p'run 3 weeks ago in 22:05 off dodgy knee and not much training. Good wishes to Poacher for the weekend . . . .
actually meant when I'm 58 .. by the time of birthday may be a bit soon . . . .
Go on Lorenzo....
Didn't realise you were that old Birch - that must surely make you the oldest on this thread? I'd guess I'm up to about 900 miles this year.
Anyone looking at or doing the real relay? http://www.endurancelife.com/realrelay/ It is a lot of runners doing the whole torch route as runners and no minibus sections. 8,000 miles in 10 mile legs at about 10 min.mile pace 24 hours a day. They started 10 days behind the official realy but should be done in 55 days so will be at the end at the same time.
I am looking to do a leg or so when it is near me, may sneak out under the cover of darkness to do a night section.
Interesting PMS, will have to keep an eye on it for when they publish the local slots.
Good spot PMJ - sounds a great thing to take part in. Will keep an eye on when they get close.
I had a look at that real relay site last night after listening to the first part of Marathon Talk. When it gets round to here I might give it a go if I can.
Lorenzo, we also had a red, white and blue theme at work. I wore my London Marathon finisher's T-shirt.
Jezza Good news about the injury
Poacher As crazy as always. I too, in a slightly morbid way, wouldn't mind another foot photo
BikeIt Enjoy it and try and absurb as much as you can. I know a few others doing it as well.
OO Good luck for the weekend.
9 miles tonight. Legs feel heavy. Hopefully get 46 miles for the week, then a cut back next week.
I ran another 10 miler tonight. I'm trying the Jubilee challenge; 60 miles in 6 days. 2 down, 4 to go- 4 days left of my holiday.
Why will you cut back Scoobs?
Minni - I wasn't enjoying it and wasn't seeing any results so ditched it. Training plan for Munich has been written (weeks ago) and starts with a rest day on June 25th. Meanwhile I'm busy having a life so not running much and getting fat.
Good luck to BikeIt - just looked at the route profile again and you are mad!
That real relay challenge looks good PMJ. I see the leicester leg is not up yet, will be interesting to see if I can make one of he legs near here.
All the best Bike It - do try and enjoy it. Looking forward to that report already.
Poacher will be on his way by now, so here go some virtual good luck vibes: ((((()))))
Jase - Racing again so soon? You must actually like this running lark, or something
PMJ - What a shame it's a month too early for me - I would definitely have liked to do that.
