Food shopping fine, its the crowds of folk there will be there buying obscene amounts of stuff they dont need that does my head in.

Correction: obscene amounts of stuff that their family and friends don't need you mean.

Where did everybody go? I did parkrun today in 24:30 not bad in the pouring rain.

I'm unlikely to get a chance again before Tuesday, so...

Happy Christmas Everyone!!

Have a great time and enjoy some festive running!

Here's to a PB filled 2013 and plenty of focus...

Very good work Ickle .. I bailed from doing park run because of heavy rain and time constraints .. We went to the Harry Potter studio tour .. Very very good.

Tomorrow it's a WEEK since I last ran ! Oops .... Marathon training started last Monday. ... Took the first week off.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY .. lots of running and fun next year ...

I still have a sore throat. My cats are racing around the flat. I'm excited because it's nearly Christmas. I already feel fat and flabby and the serious over-eating hasn't even started in earnest yet! Must limit it to one day (Christmas Day) Looking forward to starting marathon training on Monday.

My TRS session was cancelled yesterday due to a power cut! Darn it. I only ran once this week and it was in the pouring rain.

Thank goodness it's the holidays. I am Knackered. With bells on.

I get some kind of award, because I actually went to the British library today and did some work on my MA.

A gentler parkrun today as suggested by FRC. 21:49 pacing a friend who was hoping for 21:00. I tried to pace it right, but he didn't keep up! In the analysis afterwards discovered that this was because he'd come to his target using the rule of thumb "3 miles = 5k, so 5k in 21 minutes is 7 minute miles" knowing that he could achieve 7 minute mile pace. However 7 minute miles is in fact 21:45 so he was spot on in producing his form. 21 minute 5k is 6:46 mile pace though

Nonetheless a good experience for us both and one which we plan on repeating. Any tips on pacing other runners gratefully received. I was surprised at just how comfortable that pace felt and that I could talk so freely. Once my friend recovered his power of speech I was pleased, and slightly relieved (quite a new friend), to find that he found my words of encouragement useful rather than annoying

Hello Brother. I just signed up for the Mornington Chasers 10K on Sun, 3rd Feb. Keep my foot in. There's that one plus the half at Silverstone on 3rd March. Just need to do the actual training now...

More mince pies & wine, nice food being enjoyed.

Cicero gentler obviously good, more like a tempo run for you perhaps. Maybe try racing each 2nd or 3rd one?

Ikle, Congrats on the park run. Rest up with that sore throat, hydrate well with some alcoholic beverages. Bit worried that TRS stopped by power cut, some sort of Robocop outfit they have you wearing perhaps?

As per Susan's & Daves posts, likely not on for 3-4 days. Happy Christmas everyone. All stay fit, healthy and happy.

9 mile run this morning with TGR, and I managed to talk away my knee pain. Like, entirely away. By lifting the knee and focusing on form. How blooming exciting. IT IS BIOMECHANICAL! IT REALLY IS! =)

But... the shops will be closed for a whole DAY! How are people supposed to cope without panic-buying a month's worth of food?

Hope everyone has a great Christmas
