I can beat that. I thought one of my friends children was called Wade for 6 months

Misheard him when we said he was going with baby (to be) Weighed.

Wabo, you are the active thread guru and clearly in charge with AH AND Susan away.

Another 9 miles, your weekly mileage is great at the moment. Still think you can do sub 4 sometime soon, this year or next. How is the running feeling at the moment?

Fab speed/ strength session last night, upto 100kg back squat on my list set, plus assorted split squats, partial pistol squats.. actually lots of squats and stretching. Always feels hard. Tempo run tonight, start ramping it up the next 4-6 weeks to MP miles and under... Hard work starts here.

I'm worried I've over tapered this week, but i guess that's a taper for you! Only 4.5 miles on Tues and 3 tomorrow @ parkrun before half on Sunday...
01/03/2013 at 08:21

frc  morning.  My mileage will go through the roof ths week! My running feels great at the moment, it feels a bit heavy on the lsr but whenever I do some sort of speed its great. Half marathon on sunday but as it will be incorporated into my 18 mile run I am not sure what to expect.  Plan is to run to the start (3.25) miles do the race and then see if I can do a little more. If I am honest if it feels like i can go under 2 I will be happy to do no more at the end!

Ikle thats taper madness for you, dont worry.

My daughter's friend had her two babies the same day as tutu, they are gorgoeous she had a boy and a girl!

Ikle you will be fine. Legs get a bit twitchy when you rest them. Park run slow and then enjoy the carb load on Saturday night. I always try and get 5-10 minute slow warm up in 20-30 minutes before the start of a some stretches. What do TRS have you do?

Wabo which half for you ? Enjoy. Bet you surprise yourself.

Didds. How are things with you?

Nice 8.5 for me last night in an absolute pea soup of fog. Achilles a bit tight so taking it easy. Massage today and loosening up.. will take it easy though.

Hi folks, thought I ought to swing by and say hello, its been a while....
Not much to report, got bath half this weekend, hoping for a decent pb, 4 hour drive to get there tomorrow though!

Hello Scott! I managed a sedate Parkrun today in 26:30 ish. Kind of hard when feeling bionic. Probably not slow enough... Good practice for tomorrow's half when I also mustn't race. Think I'll run 8:30 mm til mile 7 and see how I feel. Definitely won't race the end though I promise...
02/03/2013 at 11:50

Ikle - you know it makes sense...

Gentle 14 for me after lunch... must control the urge to go off too quick. Will throw in a couple of miles at the end at HM pace to see how it feels.

Still deliberating over an Autumn Marathon... You doing Chester again Scott?

02/03/2013 at 16:56

Do we think a majority pace of 8:30 mm is ok or too quick and might accidentally turn into racing? (For tomorrow's half)

02/03/2013 at 18:16
Good luck Scott. You should be on for good sub 1:50 after your time at Chester.

Ikle sounds like a plan, 8:30 gets about 1:52-53? Roughly your 5k pace today.

Enjoy. Dtf are you doing a half soon with the hmp section?
02/03/2013 at 18:17

sounds fast to me Ickle but I guess I would say that - joking apart its not exactly NOT racing.... depends what you want... back to original question ... scroll back a page or so...

cant believe how quickly the marathon is creeping up oh well.. will run a bit tomorrow but a CUTBACK WEEK .. someo f you wont know what that is .. its when you do LESS MILES after a longer run.... before building up again the following week... bit worried I have done not enough this week.. oh welll .. will be fine, will be fine, I can do it i, I can do it... there you are - some cross training... DONE!!

Fleet Half on 17th.... slotting in 2 quicker miles at the end of today's otherwise casual 14 miler seemed to make sense but my hands were so cold I didn't really enjoy it...

Ikle - 8:30 sounds bang on to me... you should feel pretty good still at the end too

Susan, my cutback weeks start next week as I've altered my routine following two 100mile months. Then after Fleet I've a series of 10k to aim at. Never trained for a 10k so hopefully with a bit of discipline I should see some improvement on my 4 year old PB
