Here I am. Just bathed and in bed. Long old day. Very sad news to end it with that young guy.

Well what can I say .. Not my finest, could not do Ten min miles to start kept telling myself to slow. Never mind . Just looked at splits ad thought would be terrible positive split but was not as bad as thought, halfway in 2.07 finished in 4.20. But from mile 19 I walked a minute at every mile marker. So walked 6 mins in total but very disciplined. Just one each mile marker. Heard someone talk about it on train yesterday and was getting to point of I hate this so decided to turn it on its head and take charge. Last six miles still hard but better. And was more positive in my head. Ikle overtook me going up hill around 8 miles dd not see her after that, well done Acoops you should have said hi! That's a great first Mara.

Right . Sleep. 6.00 am cab to kings cross. Ran Brighton with AH on my mind (())

Well done everyone at Brighton and sad news about the young man who died. Will be happy with finishing in anything around or under 4:20.

Had to do my long run on Friday as i had a busy weekend. Ran with my dad for 14.5 and then tagged on a fast few miles on the end. Did around 17.5 miles in just under 3hbut found it hard running straight from work.

Congratulations ACoops - that's a great time for your first marathon - now you have to post your race report!

Susan - fantastic - another consistently run marathon - well done. Hope you got the 7:05!

Any news on Ickle?

Well done Susan, I was thinking of you yesterday whan the sun came bursting through in London and Temperatures went up to 18/19 degrees. Goog solid result for you.

Well done to Acoops too.

Sorry not to have been posting recently. Running for me has been very sporadic and my last consultation was inconclusive and I'm going to have another MRI scan.

Had terrible news on Saturday. I've been worried about a friend for a couple of weeks. Rang 999 and got the police to break-in. They found him dead. No obvious cause or timescale so there will be a post-mortem. He was very overwieght and didn't look after himself so it was probably a stroke or heart-attack. I am going into the house with his brother this afternoon to see what needs doing. Can't say I'm looking forward to it.

Howard, how awful, I can"t begin to imagine what it must be like. Sorry to hear your still suffering injuries and hope the scan shows up something that can be fixed.

Susan well done. Some good positive thinking there, very solid

Howard, sad news. So sorry to hear that. With the guy yesterday and your friend puts everything in perspective.

Bless you, Howard. Good for you phoning the police. Your poor friend I'm so sorry. Yes I'm just being grumpy because of 4 hr 55 min marathon plus knee is Back. Hardly the magnificent triumph I was anticipating. But at least I finished. Race report to follow when I'm sufficiently chipper...
