I don't like the email notifications. There are too many of them and they clog up my email. So there.

and a hi to angela!!

Hi Quinns Dad I remember seeing him. They did not have a category for female over 65 or FV70 .However, the men did 65 and 70.

So I had to be in over FV60 even though I am 66.

Amazing LO65!!

welcome back WAbo .. we have missed you.

Ikle I think the doc is wrong - you are clearly ill.. wanting to run 50 miles.... oh my!!

24/05/2013 at 17:34

Congrats Quinn & quinns Dad. LO65 too for taking down the younger 60-65 age group runners too.

Susan, you flick between Slack Susan with photo and the other one at will, different PC, device? The photo one is much friendlier. My missus is still around an 1hr for 10k, sub 60 once and a few years younger than you. Lots of girls (less than 22/25 have joined with their mums) at club are all around same time too, 58-60+ minutes. You still got it.

AH too. Was talking to my club coach, he is also swimming the channel this summer but as a triathalon relay? Sounds like bike to dover, with sections, then 1hr channel each, then running. Some people really are nuts and then some. He hasn't done the acclimatisation you've done either.

Ikle, pretty healthy dream to Fido, Martin, and myself to do 50 miles. Not so sure after that Bath event with all the farm gates, most ultras are off road. Maybe do an LDWA event post Thunder Run?

Fido podium! top stuff.

Ho hum for me.. feel like a big lardy thing returning from hols, think I overdid trying to bounce back from this so tired myself out. Took an early rest day and much better run yesterday. was thinking of doing a marathon next weekend in Kent, but its quite far to get too, and trains expensive if missus can't drive, may just skip it. Ultras I think the plan for August/ Sept/ Oct// Nov at moment.

Went to the track. Am I mad? 4 x 600 m and 4 x 300m .. Bleurghhhh ....

did I tell you I saw my godson on Monday run 800m in 2 mins 19 ... Could not even do   600m in that ... Ha ha .. Did 1.24 or such like ... Nasty ...

24/05/2013 at 22:42

Of course I mean 2.24 .....

25/05/2013 at 08:11

I think my knees don't like distance plus speed, so maybe if I slowed it down a bit, kept to ten minute miles. Grass definitely helps too, but yes, not stiles...

25/05/2013 at 08:12

I'm a poet.

25/05/2013 at 08:12

Ps hooray its the holidays!

25/05/2013 at 08:32

Oooh I think you should do it Ikle! It'll be a good challenge.

My Panda run went well, I was accompanied by most of my team from work all dressed as animals (and one zoo keeper). It felt good to run a couple of people to their first ever 10k, I think they all enjoyed it..

I have a dilemma for your sensible running selves.. I am supposed to be doing my half iron man next weekend, but I've come down with some kind of throaty, coughy cold. At what point does racing endurance after a cold become dangerous?

25/05/2013 at 08:32

Also, hello Angela!

25/05/2013 at 09:01

Sorry to hear about Lurgy Acoops I am sure DrAH irin man expert can advise, Ashe is super clever and sensible

25/05/2013 at 20:03

Running 13.1 today in the sunshine helped cure me of wanting to run 50. Anybody see Eddie? I love that Izzard man.

25/05/2013 at 23:24

Acoops I think there can be heart probs, that's what you want to check up on.

Susan how handy? Valencia which folk rave about is on Nov 17th. I have the track mara/6h ultra on er ...Sat 23rd. And Frankfurt @ end Oct. Trouble in UK is if weather turns, eh? Then wasn't there that racecourse one in Newcastle?

The marathon talk what-peeps-is-doing list is good and too, but the smaller ones fly a bit under the radar.

Am now tempted to do Valencia too...! Time for bed!

26/05/2013 at 09:31

I have just been perusing ultra events rather foolishly possibly. Looked at Run to the Castle in Wales which is ONLY 40 miles so possibly doesn't count? Basey not keen. Don't know what knee would have to say about it either, but it likes grass and likes walking...

26/05/2013 at 17:29

Anything more than 27 is an ultra so of course it counts!

Try 30-35 miles first maybe Ikle? That worked nicely for me so didn't feel too much more. But is. Maybe with an LDWA 20 ish something first as a buildup.

Picking one that doesn't have stiles or hills somewhere isn't going to be easy.

Ripon 35 near Jovi is in early Oct, approx 5th or 6th. Chance of some sun, rather freezing cold or snow. When is the wedding?

fido which enigma in August are you doing me & Martin at doing the 18 aug one
