Hi guys, Mine is 5:46, but done offroad. I'm hoping to get under 5:30 in the Portsmouth coastal in 2 weeks then go from there!

Hi Guys

Happy Christmas all

Hello all.

Am I ok to join in the conversation?

Starting my training PROPERLY tomorrow after we had our first child on the 18th of December so things have been hectic!

I did the Manchester marathon 2 years ago in disgusting conditions and got 5:00:52. I was gutted about the 52 seconds and just want to get under sub 5 hours for this one.

I'm worried that I'm going to struggle as there's only 15 weeks to go, but I was running pretty regularly before baby came (about 10 miles a week) so shouldn't be completely useless. Famous last words.

Yay, I'm running London again. So excited. I've not been on this thread since 2011, but would like to come back....

Happy New year everyone

Welcome Joanne and Leeee....and welcome back Paul

Start of training in ernest now! I am going to struggle a bit this year to fit in all the long runs as I am away quite a bit with oldest daughter in Uni and some work committments...but where there's a will there's a way!

Happy running

Hmm..didn't get an email saying that this one had had a response either. That's a little annoying...

Anyone doing Cliveden XC on Sunday?

16/01/2014 at 22:34

So, how's everyone's training going? What sort of mileage are you up to?

17/01/2014 at 07:24

Not too bad thanks. About 30 miles a week. You?

17/01/2014 at 14:31

Wow, great going Paul. The birth of our first child scuppered my training for 3 weeks, but back up to about 15 miles per week now and increasing each week. I'm hoping that with that, plus 30+ miles cycling to work each week, it sees me through.

P.s. Cheap train tickets have been released for the marathon weekend now. Got my wifes today for £13 from York - amazing value!

Interesting. I haven't started to think yet how I will get to London. I'm hoping to move house but until we exchange contracts cannot be absolutely certain that it will happen.

Fitst child! And training for a marathon. That's amazing!! Don't think I could have done that.

Thanks, Paul. As I mentioned the first 3 weeks were chaos and didn't get out running once. Things settled down now though. I'm hoping this is the case when doing loads of miles and out for hours.

Morning all

Leeee - amazing that you can get out there and run, well done!

Paul - 30 miles sounds great!

I did a 15 mile LSR yesterday, very slowly, 2hrs 56 mins! Took a few walk breaks, I have a few niggles, so walked a stretched a bit! Really aching this morning, feeling my age!

Hope you are all enjoying the  weekend

Now done 4 weeks with 5 runs a week. Seems to be making a difference - ran my fastest ever 10k today, albeit a training run rather than a race. 12 weeks to go (I think).

MWW - Thanks! Good work on your 15 miles. Sounds great (apart From the niggles).

Paul - great work on your frequency. I doff my cap to you.

I came off my bicycle on the ice on Monday on the way to work. Really hurt my hip. Thankfully my brand new bike and my body parts are otherwise ok. Just taking a couple of days off the running as a bit stiff. Could have been so much worse though so I'm just counting my lucky stars. Especially as after I'd got cleaned up and stopped shaking there was a car accident in the exact same spot.

Welcome Paul & leeee

Great run MWW

Did 14 mile run on Tuesday in 2:37
