RH and mcs all the best for your races tomorrow!

RH you should see a fair amount of Horsham Joggers tomorrow in their white vest with burgandy sections down the side - that's my club. Not sure who's running though.

Still snotty but not gone to my chest luckily so have carried on training!

Wish the sun would come back out!

Did a lovely countryside / along the river run Friday - very warm and I'm not carrying water at the moment but it was a good steady 12.3 miles.

Today's was just as scenic, 17.3 round the villages and tracks west of Lincoln, finishing with 3 pacey miles as I tried to catch my running buddy again!

The taper begins << H E R E > > !!!

All training is now complete or not happening. Nothing more now will make us any quicker on race day, we have set our max pace, just need to tone and taper and be sensible so that pace can happen on race day!

OMG, I did it! I smashed my pb after all these years!

Unofficial time from my Garmin is 2:01:02 and I now feel that sub 2 is within my grasp with a bit more training.

I'm so happy I could cry

[this is a post I've just put onto JustOneMoreMile's facebook thread:

It's taper time! with less than 3 weeks to go to London (and Boston, Brighton, Hull, Manchester, I think...) no runs or training you do now will make you go faster on the day. In-fact, anything you do will effectively make you slower! Think of your best possible time as set in stone; now you just have to tweak your energy levels, nutrition, rest, recovery and mental attitude to chip away to reveal the perfectly formed scuplture that is your PB...!

Bloody marvellous - you just need to find 5 seconds per mile - you can do it!

But I would be content with a 5+ minute improvement for the time being. What a breakthrough!

Eight today in snow and ice at six am, now it's nearly all gone crazy weather!

cor blimey! 4 days without a run and when I did go out this evening, it hurt! sore ankles, legs, hips, back, everything! hopefully it's just a reaction to the taper, so still looking forward to a speedy half on Sunday!

Great 4 day bank holiday weekend, Happy Easter all xx

Tempo run for me soon. I'm making hot cross buns at the moment

Jim, tapering is really awful isn't it. I'm getting grumpy and nervous in equal measures. Are you racing this weekend then?

Have a lovely Easter everyone

yes RH, Friskney Half (near Boston). It's flat and fast though can be windy as it's only a couple of miles from the North Sea. Should be a good 1:52 or so if I can...!

07/04/2012 at 11:00
Oooh, good luck then Jim. Sub 1:50 please
08/04/2012 at 00:05
btw last time I ran sub 1:50 was... err.... 1995 ish (aged, oh, err... not 20 yet...!) and my first ever in 1992. Got an age-prize in that one though!
