Did 12.5 miles in 2hrs yesterday, was a pretty undulating route, struggled towards the end which is the first time I have felt like that since training! Oh well, they can't all be good runs can they?
I am toying with the idea of an ultra the london to brighton one looks like quite good fun!

Bigeater, I think you should try one of the fab off-road marathons in your area and then you'd be hooked - there's something really exciting about battling the elements (just as long as you don't have to be rescued)!
Intervals for me on the treddy later. It's too undulating/hilly to do them on the lanes plus I spend my time hopping into the hedgerows to let cars/tractors et al past!
great hill sprints last night; 3 miles to get there, 4 x .4 mile with 2 hills as a figure of eight. Each hill is about 60-80 yards and fairly steep. I managed sub 6 minute pace for each sprint, popping down to a lovely 4:43 per mile pace on one! hurts a bit today though!
Good work Jim. I did 8x800 metre reps, 1 mile there and back, was running at about 3.45 for each rep, hurting today as well!
Today I did 7 undulating/hilly miles @ marathon pace

I did 8x2mins,(1 min recovery) why does speed work HURT so much!! My recovery skins came yesterday, so I am now sitting wearing them...interested to see how legs feel later.
resting tonight, short but fast tomorrow, then 10k race on Sunday. Next week will be backto high mileage!
well done bigeater; hope the leg's okay "in the long run"!!! blood and gore are usally worth either sympathy or sarcasm, so it sounds as if you did well!
Slow 6 miles for me tonight, finishing the month on 154.8, or 4.99 miles per day. Not bad for a month sans motivation!!!!

I can report that after my speed work yesterday and wearing my new skins my legs felt really good! Did some serious leg work this eve, deadlifts, lunges, calf raises etc so plan on sleeping in my skins tonight.

Beautiful cold sunny running day today, did my new local parkrun again and got a PB. I was inspired by the runner in front of me...he was pushing a buggy! I was determined not to let him get away!

7:51, 7:55, 8:16, 7:36, 7:29, 7:50, then 0.21 at 7.21 (finishing at 4:54 pace!)
Total time for 10k race, 48:40, breaking previous PB by 38 seconds!
