Oooooh, we haven't had a troll on here for a while!
rested this weekend and ate and drank a week's worth... nearly 6000 calories between Friday and Saturday!
hope to make up some decent mileage from tomorrow for the rest of the week, so if I gain less than a pound weight I'll be happy! Back to weight loss next week!
btw. 6000 cals = 2 x cereal, about 8 x coffee, 2 x sandwich (normal food) thenfamily bbq with chicken drumstick, 2 x pork chops, steak, 3 x sausage, salad, lemon fluff, 3 x bread pudding slices and 7 x John Smith's bitter, all carefully spread out until 4am. Lovely!
LOL at your calorific breakdown Jim and excellent pacing too
Just looked at my mileage prior to the streak and I was up to 447.5. I work in .5 mile steps so don't bother including anything inbetween such as .25 (which would go to the mile below) or .75 (which would go to .5 below) so it's always an uncomplicated figure. So my total mileage to date is 782.85 which is a little bit more than usual. The .85 is really annoying but I have to include it as I'm recording my streak with all the little biddy bits of miles in. It will be interesting to see what my total is at the end of the year.
6 miles with 6 x 3 mins efforts last night as well as 4 miles on the bike (2 to and from work)
3.25 to work this morning as they were digging up one of the roads on the way
hopefully a long run tonight, just depends how much my foot hurts!
Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to me-e,
With a brand new pb
Staplehurst 10k. Spur of the moment entry as Mike is still incapacitated with an injury to his back so we couldn't do anything today. Asthma quite gunky but I was determined to conquer it. Managed a negative split (that's a first!) and finished in 53:41 by my watch.
Previous pb of 54:20 set in Brighton in 2007 (2 weeks after Beachy Head marathon and having done 5 marathons and 2 ultras in quick succession) and I've only run 1 more 10k since then in 2009, Ashford 10k and I ran exactly the same time there!
Today marks the halfway point of my running streak so I've got 55 more days at a minimum of 5.6 miles each day. Total streaky miles to date 354.79 and mileage for the year 802.29.
Happy girl. Now to eat some birthday cake
fantastic Redhead, well done! Birthday PBs are extra special, and now you're well and truely under 9 minute miling on a 10k too! Sub 50 must be your next aim after the streak!
5k in 22 mins 21 seconds, a PB by 12 seconds.
The weather was fine, cloudy, cooling and a steady wind. Soon after the start I caught a girl from the club who I've never been close to for ever (i.e. she did 3:34 at VLM) until I beat her in a 10k at the start of the month. I ran on her shoulder for 2 miles, then managed to pull away, getting a lead of a whole 5 yards! It was enough and I beat her by a couple of seconds! The whole race (bear in mind I HATE 5ks!) was at a hurtling fast pace I never thought about before... gonna hurt in the morning!
Helloooooooooo the thread! I've been having such trouble getting on the RW site that I gave up.
Hope you're all well and training sensibly in this hot weather.
I'm now at day 86 of my 111 day running streak and still going strong (touch wood and all that!) although I'm getting fed up of just doing short distances so will probably have to start including some longer runs when I reach day 100.
Total streaky mileage so far = 525.87 and annual mileage to date = 973.37
congrats Redhead! my annual mileage is now 1020 or so, but ypu're catching me!
very sensible here, still increasing mileage and just done a lovely 27 degree 10 miler!
But Jim dear, I'm old enough to be your mother so surely your mileage should be much higher than mine?
Are you sure? I think the only way you'd be old enough to be my mother would be if you had been a very naughty girl at school!
LOL! What's you target time for your next marathon Jim?
I'm thinking about an autumn marathon as I need to stretch my legs a bit more
Palma target? at least sub 4, depends what the weather does. Might be in the region of 3:40, in which case you can well-and-truely evict me from this thread!
OMG Jim, that would be awesome
We've been celebrating. Day 111 of my running streak completed. Total streaky mileage = 681.22, year to date = 1128.72. We're having champers this evening
congrats Redhead, excellent! you've nearly caught my 2013 mileage! 1172 today. No streaks though!
5 mile PB today, 36:21. More ice cream!
Wowzer Jim, that's a stonking time for a 5 miler!
Oh poor little thread, all alone and unloved
I'm chasing another 10k pb at Brighton in November and so far have got a doubel marathon booked for next March
