Training paces

Hi fellow runners, Need a bit of advice: signed up to do the London Marathon in April (will be my first) - however am struggling to work out what paces I should be doing in my training for easy/tempo/speed work sessions. I've run half marathons in 1hr 35min and am aiming for around 3:30 for the marathon but not really followed any formal training plans in the past. Any ideas/suggestions/advice would be much appreciated! Ed

Google Macmillan running calculator that should give you an idea.

Ed google Mcmillan running calculator,type in your current half time and it will give you the full range of training paces from there.

Thanks guys - will have a look now. Just worried I sometimes train too hard and fall down in speed work etc!

I've had a look on the Macmillan website and its really helpful! This is such a silly question but am I right in thinking that long runs are for endurance, speed work is for speed and tempo runs are for stamina? Just want to get that clear in my head! (Would you believe I've run loads of half marathons?!) ha!
