I'll be staying at the Park Royal Travelodge just outside Ealing on Saturday night, I know it's a good few miles from Greenwich but just how early will I have to get up to get there on time on Sunday (not that I'll be getting much sleep!).

Presume you're using the District Line and then the train from Charing Cross? The District Line is slow - I'd check the times with London Underground if I were you especially as there's bound to be engineering works on Sunday. From other threads it looks like people are planning to arrive 8 - 8.30 ish. Train from Charing Cross only takes 15 - 20 mins - but they will be busy, so get there early!!

Definitely check the times - it's quite a journey, most of the length of the District line, and (sorry if this is patronising) check you're on the right train, the district line branches off in several different directions.

Perhaps it would be easier to try and find a more central hotel then!

if the Address for you hotel is

then your nearest Tube station is Park Royal on the Picadilly Line

Trains leave at

06:56, 07:12, 07:26, 07: 39 then 10 mins intervals

takes 30 mins to get to Leicester Square from there a short walk down Tottenham court Road to Trafalagar Square and Charing Cross Tube Station

Pretty much SB, except that Tottenham Court Road turns into Charign Cross Road, so look out for that when you come out of Leicester Square.

Plus the trains to the start go from the overground station which is a short walk from Trafalgar Square (down the Strand)

I think (but wouldn't swear to it) that you can get into the mainline station via the tube bit.

So am I. However all the other info about going to Leicester sqr is accurate, or as accurate as the London Underground website would give me

Thanks for your help guys. My heart sank when I realised just how far away my hotel was but a 45 min journey isn't so bad, after all there are probably others coming from further afield on the day.
