RuningRaRa  ....very jealous that you have been running, I am very, very, very bored now !!!!

Mick - sorry we cross posted there! My very great pleasure

RunningRaRa. Yes I follow a few runners blogs, but all seem to be American. I'll see if I can find the ones you follow. Interesting reading about other people's running! Great pace tonight BTW how did your legs feel?

Pip - hang in there. Think how great your legs will feel after all the rest (hopefully!)

Last 2 are American but lazygirl is a Brit.

Legs felt ok. Never even felt the dodgy knee. However 1 hip made it's presence felt which I've never had before. Only a little but obviously some carry over from the marathon.

Inspired I'm having another stab at photo trawl. Found 2 more on pg 327. Now unto 600+ and still no more...

6 mile run done! new trainers muddy

05/05/2012 at 13:40

Westbromtom   ........there is nothing worse than getting new running shoes muddy or wet for the first time

my new ones are pleading with me to go for a run, but so far have been resisting only 8 more days to go   Went out on my bike this morning so feeling slightly more cheerful.

Well my 7 year old went out for her first training run today. She ran non-stop for 1.5 miles, which wasn't bad! I was then an excellent mummy for the day: went to the Falkirk Wheel; boat trip; play park; swimming; and then fish and chips for tea. (not us, we had healthy homemade curry) Can go to bed feeling like a good mummy, which is nice after weeks of neglect!
Running tomorrow, woohoo!

Unto pg 1200 and still no more of me! Why so many of the lady in the pink tutu and bra and none of me! Did I run with a bag on my head?

Well done super mummy Emma. I bought a lovely book today...paddington's guide to London. Has lots of family friendly things to do in the capital. As we are not holidaying till October I suggested a few day away in the summer hols. To which my 9yr old son said " I don't want to go to London. You'll just talk about your marathon all the time."

Have I gone too far?

RunningRaRa I am on page 500  [working backwards] still no sign of me running through the finish !!  pink tutu lady is EVERYWHERE !!!!   but am slightly relieved haven't seen the chap in the mankini   I am probably in the photos that are so dark that you can't see anything

Thanks rara, it was lovely having a day of fun.

Photo wading is not fun. I've looked at them all I think and have given up finding any more.

<div class="blogpost" style="margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 5px; clear: both; margin-right: 5px;">last Wednesday evening we ran DK10k in a nice 1:03, it was a steady run, we never ever intended to race it .... a superb event as it always was .....

Then today we've just run Lichfield HM ( our 239 th ) in a lovely enjoyable 2:20 .... its a super event, one that we will most defineatly be returning to ..... some road surfaces were a bit uneven so it slowed us a little, and of course there were teasing undualtions ..but thats the name of the game ahh ....

Before we left to come home, i duely told the organisers what a superb event i think it is ...

this coming Wednesday were at Silverstone 10k & coming Friday hopefully will run Nottingham evening 10 miler..

Micknphil, you two are just race machines!

I have an ill husband so my 5 miles went out the window as I had the kids. We ran along the canal to the park, boy on bike, and ran round the park a lot of times. There was an outdoor gym in the park too. Quite cool! Tomorrow we are hill walking so no runnin then either. Sigh.

Goodness, don't log on for a few days and life moves on on this forum!

I gave up on trawling through the marathon pics, but bought the best one of me and plan to get it framed so I can reminisce when I'm old(er) and fat(ter)!

I was also impressed that it said in the last 7km I passed more than 750 runners and only 7 passed me! I thought I was shuffling like a wounded snail...

My hand is probably 70% working now. I can use chopsticks (ha!) but my handwriting is still weird and I'm to scared to get on my bike in case I have to brake suddenly.

I'm actually scared all my fitness has gone out the window. I've had an amazing birthday fortnight of eating and drinking (and no exercising) and am petrified I won't be able to run to the corner of the road.

I have resisted running until now but think tomorrow I will go out for a cheeky 3 or 4 miler - to blow the cobwebs out as Emma said.

Tx

well done Micknphil really, really impressed.  Can't wait till next Sunday when I can go for a run yippee !!

littleby little glad your hand is getting better, I was pretty impressed by the statistics I didn't think I had passed many people in the last few km's but apparently I did !!!  couldn't believe it  as I too was shuffling like a wounded snail

Hi Guys,

Glad to see the thread is still ticking over.

I am well impressed my with runpix stats, I passed 1280 runners and only 22 passed me in the past 7k. Although my time is still below average so I'll have to work on that for next year .

B&T, post a link to your blog if you can I love reading people's marathon stories.

I went out for a run on Thursday, my running club friend convinced me to go to the hill session. 1 min fast, 1 min slow for 40 mins runing up and down a big hill - . I don't think I'll run again until this thursday as my legs were aching a bit after that !

Lbl, I'm sure you will be fine and surprise yourself. You are entitled to have a litlle blow out. I went away for the weekend and spent it drinking wine and eating crap, can't wait to go running again and run some of it off !

Hope everyone else is well x

Pip, I will definitely be watching the torch relay, once when it goes past the end of our road, but more importantly, when I watch my friend Liz who is a torchbearer, as I nominated her! I'm slightly scared that she is going to involve me in the local press coverage though lol...
