Hi HR, do you have an update from John?

Looked like the high pressure moving in on Friday from Countryfile forecast.

Can we do it on Saturday please?

12degC,  light easterly with a bit of drizzle at about the time I go through 20 miles then sun when I get to Horseguards Parade would be nice though

I got a massive rain shower when I got to Horseguards last year. It was nice - for about the first three minutes. 25 minutes later when the folks turned up I was not so happy :-S

I'd like it to be warm and sunny, but that's because I've got a proper poorly ankle and have to walk it!

I think it's anyone's guess at the moment really, especially given how erratic our weather has been the last few months so I shall just keep an eye on how it's looking and decide what to pack to wear just before I leave on the Saturday.  May get some charity shop stuff to wear over my kit in the early stages if it looks like it will be cold then warm up and just discard them as I warm up!

Thanks HR, any update this week would be greatly appreciated.

Metcheck and the Beeb forecasts are looking pretty innocuous at the minute.

Wind direction is important. An easterly means we will have a tailwind behind us for most of the race while a westerly means we could be running into the teeth of a gale.

Just 4 days to go. Forecast looks excellent to me

7C (feels like 5C) at the start.

11C (feels like 10C) towards the end.

Low wind from the SE, very little chance of rain.

Cold in the morning before the start!

Looks ideal that.

after the winter we've had the last thing we want is a hot day...unless you've done all your training abroad that is!

Hello all, update from John Holmes the Senior Forecaster with Netweather

"I can see nothing in any model to suggest a major change with UK Met Fax T+120 chart issued last evening looking to me to be as near as anyone this far out can get on the weather pattern.
Surface ridge being eroded from the west during the day by a cold front moving east. Certainly not reaching the London area during the day. A dry day, spells of sunshine after perhaps some early mist in outlying areas. A light and variable wind becoming light S-SSW during the morning, rarely more than 5-10mph. Temperatures starting close to zero C in the suburbs(5-6 central London) and climbing to about 14C by early afternoon, maybe 16C in the city centre."

Still looking perfect.

Cold before the start 3C (feels like 2C)

1000 7C (5C)

1300 11C (10C)

Dry, sunny/cloudy, light wind from the SW.

I'm getting really scared now!!!!
