It's a great feeling isn't it AGF!

Sounds a tough walk SM, I certainly would not fancy 'running' that sort of ascent!

Nice running by you and your OH YC.

I love the last long run Tek (once it's done!) then just cotton wool time. Great PB, well done!!

Looking forward to the reports coming in. A short one from me on the Aviemore 10k. Arrived to register just after 8am, it was cold. The last buses were due to leave at 9am so went to queue. The race was to start at 10am and I seriously considered running in tights and jacket, it was sooooooo cold. Ended up in capris, t-shirt and arm warmers (and obviously gloves and hat). All of the run is on road and I know I'm nowhere near PB shape so just ran it keeping breathing a steady 2 in 2 out with footsteps. Felt fine until mile 5 and thought I'd have to stop as feeling very dodgy! Anyway made it to the end and went to get warmed up straight away - splits and av HR 6:40 (192), 6:44 (178), 6:40 (180), 6:35 (181), 6:39 (182), 6:55 (184) 1:36 (184). Overall 4th lady (had a laugh as recalled your comment from last time HM4!) but I was 2nd FV so got a lovely prize thingy, an XL t-shirt , a £20 voucher for a local coffee shop  & a a tiny bottle whisky.   A really good event.

...forgot to say they had problems with timing system so official results not up yet. My garmin says 41:48 (PB is 41:32) so really pleased with that as I could have gone a bit faster. Odd as no chip mat at the start just the end, never seen that before!

Well done guys.

Fiona,

Are you going to make it 3rd time lucky? Or as things come in 3s will it be another 4th ?  (Sorry couldn't resist!)  Well done.

F great racing!!  The flat HR was equally impressive - (I went up 40 bpm during my 10k)

AGF well done on the week's total

HM well done, hope the aches pass quickly

Stuart - have you done a proper HR test to establish your max, yet? If not, best wait a few days as 400m repeats are not going to be fun this soon after a marathon...

Tek,

Hope so because my 10k is next Sunday.

Fiona- second while not in shape sounds mighty impressive to me! Well done!!

Tek- well done on the last LR. Enjoy the joys of the taper now

16.02 for me today in 2.11.55 (8.14 av).  Easy pace, but not effort Actually managed to dip under 8min miling in the last 2m- hamstrings still stiff, but getting better. Not about speed today anyway- just a reminder to my legs that they need to keep their endurance for a couple more weeks. Taper 2 time now

Fiona - Well done. Bodes well for you when you do get in PB shape!

AGF - Good total for week.

Jason - Good running as always

Tek - Nope, I have absolutely no idea what my max HR is. I just like looking at numbers! So, yeah, the numbers from today are totally meaningless, they just looked strangely high. Although I may have a pretty high max HR. Might also be inaccurate as I'm a bit of a fat pie...

Fiona - Excellent result! Impressive when not in shape as you say.

Tek - enjoy the taper and the madness!!

YC - Great running from you and your OH. Hopefully she'll love it as much as the rest of us.

AGF - Glad your on the mend.

SM - Impressive hill walking! Wishing I had gone on my normal Hill walking hols in the summer.......really missed it.

Jason- Impressive........enjoy the taper.

HM - Hope the 2.45 miles helped cure the aches.

A very cold, breezy and wet 7 miles for me tonight. Some of it on trail - mud and very water logged. Not too bad a run, average pace 8.18mm. Happy with that and I felt a lot better than on Friday so hopefully the road to recovery is nearly complete!

Well done everyone, some great running going on in here

Well today was the day i completed my first marathon in 5:27, a little over the time i wanted but with not running properly for 4 weeks i happy that i finished
Was very tough managed not to stop until the 16mile mark, even ran all the way through the tunnel but that got the better of me and had to start run walking until mile 24 then from somewhere (maybe the downhill of Parliment street) i started running again and even managed a sprint finish (think the energy for that came from seeing my kids cheering me on at the last bend) x

Well done.

Fantastic run kez, well done!!

Great to hear you are recovering kaz.

Nice easy run jason. Taper time - again!

Tek my HR just seems to go high and stay there! I think I'm another one that operates on a high HR SM even though resting HR in the high 40's.

Thanks guys; HM4 it probably will be a 4th for the third time!  There is another 10k at the end of the month but I may be busy so next one may not be until 10th November. Considering a half as a training run on 4th November and one on 18th.  Getting used to this racing mularky now!
