Well that was a disappointment! Aber parkrun turned out to be my worst 5k for AGES. Don't know if it was the fact that i haven't slept much for the last 2 nights, but I just couldn't get out of second gear.  I have had faster and longer tempo runs lately!!!! Oh well, a morning out.... 5k in 19.09

Jason - it happens - main thing is you went and took part

15/12/2012 at 11:32
Well done for getting out and doing the Parkrun Jason my last 10k race was just like that no speed no second gear I've done faster tempos since
Funny thing this running lark well just over 8 miles done for me up and down my hill, hitting the trails again tomorrow. Out shopping with the OH now Christmas madness.......

No Pain

ive always found every day running can be different - one never knows what will or could happen - hence the reason i always try to get into peoples mind - marathons are always on the day

Indeed, guys- it's a funny old game. Back next week possibly....

Jason - unlucky mate, that was a long round trip too...

NP nice 8m on your hill

micknphil - sound advice

Another little 2m bimble this morning, waiting for the club to come back from their run. Knee seems ok-ish.

I decided to get my club to run our local half for ClicSargent this year - we're not a 'proper' AAA club, so getting everyone in the same team vest will be a first (and it will be bright pink).  Got 20 runners signed up today already!!

Well done Teknik!

jason, still a pretty fast run, all good training!

NP, very brave of you to go shopping  Nice hill running.

micknphil hope you are keeping well

Just in from running to collect the car after last night's party. Very mild, 4 degrees! 16 miles easy running done.

Nice long run Fiona.......sounds like a head clearing run.

I had a christmas do on thursday night. Yesterday was a right off !!.   Today was a 12 Mile run. still feeling the effects so jogged it and enjoyed it. Tomorrows run will make it a 50 mile week and I will be happy enough with that

Good to see your coming out the other side Teknik

Jason - 19:09 is still pretty fast I am sure you will speed up again soon !!

I nice hill run NP - under the belt ,,,,now the shopping ( thats what I call tough - fighting folk in the car park / shapping mall / coffee shops )

15/12/2012 at 17:38

9 miles today - endurance rather than speed (Wet and high winds)
I'd love to get 19 for a 5k (don't think it will happen )

FC "16 miles easy" today? - you must be having different weather to us!

15/12/2012 at 19:14

Fiona great long run and nice even splits for the full 16 miles, you have to be happy with that at this stage.

AGF Nice medium long run and well done on the 50 for the week

Teknik well done but still take care.

Last three weeks training for me 55,60 and 65 building .

experience will nicely be on my side though -  phycologically i'm ready and strong - mentally i feel good, but we'll find out ahh

NO PAIN - well done on your last three weeks -

Micknphil,

At the first Godvia Half in 2006 & then at the Shakespeare Mara in 2007.  Glad you're starting to feel better.

----------

Well done on everyone's training guys.

Hi HM4

Micknphil- good news

Fiona- nice running

AGF- glad you're feeling better too

Tek- well done on the run, but don't rush the knee!

Just realised another factor to today's poor run. Forgot that I had a massage 3 days ago- that always sucks the speed out of my legs for at least 3 days- D'oh!

Christmas tree is up- thanks to Mrs JD and mini jd! I wasn't skiving- making beef and mushrooms braised in Guiness with mash and veggies for the boys' dinner. About to make chilli coconut chicken and jasmine rice with some vin rouge for me and Mrs JD. Long run planned for tomorrow, but an easy slow one

Oh yeah, 4.45m recovery run this evening to round off the day
