Your building mileage very nicely NP !! Good work !!

Tek - great to see you back in the saddle. Take it easy to begin with 2 weeks build up and then flying in the new year

Well, went out TWICE today to try a long run. Gave up in the end cos feeling really rough and light-headed. Decided to skip it and return to base. Hopefully, better tomorrow....

Evening

Not much productive this week. Done most today bar a good walk on the trails with the mutts. Parkrun yesterday, pretty disappointed with my time. Started off too quick trying to break away from the pack and faded badly in the last mile. Finished in 21:12, hopefully put in a sub 20 next week.
Double day tomorrow if I can pull myself out of bed. Try and catch up with forum happenings this week aswell. First day of 3 weeks off so try and get into a routine.

Micknphil it's the same every year, funny when it comes to March and every marathon Forum is hit with " I'm doing my first marathon VLM and have just started training this week can I do sub 3* on 3 miles a week my longest run is to the bus please help" it's in the cold of December/January when you need to get out and build that solid base.

Nice mileage AGF and NP! 4 miles easy today brings me to 46 for the week.

OH well done running in those conditions, very windy here yesterday but no rain or snow.

Teknik great news on the knee.

Hope you feel better tomorrow jason.

18 weeks...  NP then you see them near the end at VLM looking totally stunned!!

Fiona that's after you have showered changed and had something to eat and feel good the zombie I've only ever run for the bus ones are just getting in with bleeding nipples, extremely bad chafing and that look of utter shock on there face.

Evening all,

Great running going on!

Fiona - I hope your weather has been better than ours?!

I have been back out there this week, 4x in fact but only 30 miles done but ok for a recovery week? 16 weeks until Paris.........I can't quite believe its that close and I have hardly been able to run for the last two months..........this could be very hard and I may look like one of 'the zombie' by the end too

16/12/2012 at 22:04
Kaz- my 2 best marathons have both been from following 12 week plans.
16/12/2012 at 22:06
Oh, and also died after only 8m and been totally zombified after training for 18 weeks of monk-like dedication, peaking at 125m per week.....
That's why I love the marathon!

NP well done in the mud

jason get well soon

micknphil too true

spark good luck on the double today

Fiona thanks

Thanks too, HM

Kaz well done for getting out there - 16 weeks is still a looong time

---

3m jog this morning, very wet and muddy.

When are we starting the 2013 thread?

17/12/2012 at 10:59
50x25m front crawl, short run later.
Kaz plenty of time to get your training done and 30 miles is a good starting point.
Jason I think that's the other end of the scale doing to much and burn out.
Teknik well done on the 3 miles, with regards to the 2013 forum I don't know compo who just appeared last year and started this one as I had started the one in 2010/2011 but its not normally started till after Christmas.
17/12/2012 at 11:06

Well my plan today had 2x5 mile runs.........and there both done, 1 at silly O'clock and the other just now. I think I was supposed to 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening but I forgot I had to go to a church service tonight as part of the childrens festivities.

I hope your right and 16 weeks is enough time, I just feel a long way from where I should be right now. Maybe after a few weeks of consistent running things will seem better.

17/12/2012 at 12:12

Nice to see you jogging again Teknik !!

Great early double there Kaz.

Good to see your keeping up with the swimming NP.

An 8 miler first thing this morning....so this week is up and running !!

17/12/2012 at 15:56
Great start to the week. First time taking my 7month French Bully out a run, she managed the 10 miles no problems in 1:25. Feet getting soaking wasn't the best thing though, blisters!!!!!
17/12/2012 at 17:30

Nice Running Spark - bet she will sleep well now

17/12/2012 at 17:50
Cheers AGF, haha hope so. Just hoping her wee legs hold out.
