NN - I did it this year, but can't remember seeing any wine
jason awesome splits on that wet and windy 12 miler
spark good 6 miles
OH nice cross training
NN thanks. Hope the RR went ok
NP well done on the easy run and hope the race goes/went ok
F hope you enjoyed the day off
HM good, I'll stop worrying...
Kaz hope the double goes ok today
6m with the club in the mud this morning, then some sluggish strides. All ok here - managed 41m last week, and with the longish run tomorrow I should be at 45m, so I'm back on track.
Looks like we'll soon need a new thread for the 2013 marathons!
No sleep for me as I though the house was about to blow away.
Good to see things seem to be ok Teknik.
jason and MG1 well done on getting out in the rubbish weather.
No rain when I was out but windy. The plan was 16 with 8 at MP (whatever that is!) so did 4m and then started the faster stuff. Got that blasted stitch again and after 3m brisk had to jog 2 miles easy. Then did another 3 miles at MP before running back up the hill. Felt pretty bad near the end, think I was dehydrated as freezing cold. Must drink more today as hope to get a decent run done tomorrow. Happy enough with the run I did as I think the quality miles are bound to have some training effect!
Now must do some stretching. Any thoughts on stitches? I have been doing core work the last few days so thought maybe tired core muscles could be the cause as not something I usually get so often.
Tek - No run happened today. I spent all night in the bathroom with the dreaded sick bug I have now finally stopped being sick, but think I may have pulled a muscle in my side as I can't move without screaming in pain.
Fiona - Hope you are feeling ok now.
Teknik well done in the mud nice weeks running.
Jason well done running in your river and 100miles over 52 weeks is nothing
MG1 Nice monsoon running
Fiona well done on your run, stitch is a strange one but you can run through it but it's not plesent. I'm sure the speed sessions in the run will all add up come April.
Well the Castlewellen Christmas Cracker was great fun with lots and lots of mud and some fantastic hills, me and my mate after a bit of a slow start came in 76th pair and all I can say is can I do it again tomorrow I managed to run the hills hard and wait at the top before we set off again so it was a 9 mile fartlek session with just over 850m climb/decent .
Forgot end of training week 76.97 miles running and 106x25m front crawl, base building .
Wild weather overnight but glorious winter morning.Swim around the pier in good company followed by 7.5 miles running (alone).Wonderful views of the hills all arounnd in soft winter sun.Mishap with thermometer (checking sea temperature - 8C) ended up with further involuntary swim Good running NP MG1 JSNWell done for toughing it out FC(Kaz1)
kaz hope that pain goes away and that you are feeling a lot better.
Sounds a bit wild out there again tonight although not as bad as last night, kaz/OH is it calmer with you?
NP well done on another great run. Sounds like good fun and another nice off road one, 850m is a lot!
Hope to go off road tomorrow, part of the Great Glen Way. Normally 14 miles but will see how the legs hold out, one calf a bit niggly but I'll get the comp socks on.
OH did you wear a wet suit? nice run and swim and if you didnt wear a suit your an ironman
Fiona this was a great run loved every second of it and it's putting the fun back into my running, think I will do cross country next year got my socks on now enjoy your run tomorrow 15 to 17 for me tomorrow and slow and easy
Where is next year's thread? Just looked for it & couldn't find it.
jason well done in the rain.
HM - the new thread is up - check "new discussions" tab...
MG great 15.25m y'day
Fiona sorry you got the stitch again. In my experience it's either (1) dehydration (2) eating too close to the run or (3) poor breathing, esp.not exhaling fully ?? Hope the run goes ok today...
Kaz ouch, sorry to hear that. Wish you well soon!
NP great racing - 850m!!!
OH lol - well done on the 7.5m
AGF see you on the 2013 thread
14.15m run this morning; bit sore now as it was basically 7m downhill, then turned back for 7m uphill while trying to keep the HR from spiking up.
One last run tomorrow will put me on 2,161 miles. 3 mara's, finally smashing 4h, pb's at 5k and 10k too. What a year! Thanks everyone for your support...
