OH- well done on the (scenic) 50K
Mace- well done on the 10m (and new target)
Got to say that I am hoping for an improvement in the weather before Sunday's 50k in Newcastle.....anyone else racing this weekend? HM- good luck with the parkrun- hope the hip holds out....
Wouldn't fancy a 50k in this jason! Good luck.
Snow and high winds....suppose I'd best get used to it!!
Take care anyone else running tonight. Stewart might see you, I'll be running down to the Bught to get some miles in before the club run.
Just heard XC was deferred last weekend (thought I'd missed it! )Good luck with the weather for the 50k JSN
JS Christmas Nite Oot cancelled ;@but undoubtably a sensible move!
Hope the weather improves quickly for everyone up north.
OH - Is that you roped into some XC action at the weekend then?
Fiona - Good run last night, even if it was on the treddy!
Jason - Good luck for Sunday
Tek - Nice easy run
MG - That's a good couple of sessions
Another easy 6 tonight. Very slow as I ran a less flat route than yesterday, and there is a fair bit of ice in places so was worth being careful. Rest tomorrow, parkrun Saturday and 13ish Sunday.
Is there a point where I could be running too slowly? I noticed Tek doing runs at 5k+3 pace this week, whereas I'm safely slower than 5k+4 at the moment... Can't really be bothered running faster though
SM6 XC was cancelled due to flooding last week - can't see it being much better this weekend! But we shall see ...
Shame that your night out was cancelled OH. Still time to reschedule?
Stewart how was the foot on the treadmill? You'd have had Jenny for company!
Very icy here too Stuart, a few scary moments when trying to turn corners or slow down. Did a warm up before the group run so 11m in total.Still snow on the ground here and very cold.
Mace, no new shoes since October, I think I just nipped them up a little too tightly, I've put in a lovely pair of pink lock laces into them, freebie for the eldest
SM, consistent running mate, and if you are happy at +4 and it's not affect your gait then why not, you're getting in some faster stuff at parkrun anyway
MG, good PT and run session,
Tek, building nicely, have you fully recovered from your illness
OH, sorry to hear the meal was cancelled
Jason, wb hope the weather improves for you 50k race at the weekend
Fiona, it was very slippy underfoot last night glad to hear you remained upright, I saw Jenny she is a cracking runner wish I had an once of her talent,
a 35 minute run on the treadie last night, I could feel a little discomfort but no where near as painful as it was on Tuesday, I also went to body balance, so all in all not a bad night,
hangover #1 averted... and only 900 calories over my daily limit, despite devouring steak and cheesecake
hangover #2 more likely - runners tend to drink more than bowlers!
That's a feat! Well done.
Well done on everyone's training & good luck for the weekend's races.
Good luck for Sunday Jason !
OH sorry to hear the Xmas night out was cancelled. Good luck if the XC is still on tomorrow
HM have fun at the parkrun - are you dragging Chris along?
Stuart nice easy 6m. My 5k+3' comment was an admission to the Haddites on here that I can't get my HR down to 70% at the moment. Hadd said to jog at 5k + 3' until it gets down - but he was talking flat or track, not icy hilly runs. Like Stewart said, if you're not losing form then stick with it slower - the key is to build endurance without injury.
Fiona well done on the 11m. Snow already
Stewart well done on the treddie and BB. I've still got the cold but it's above my chest so I'm still running.
IJ enjoy your evening !
1m w/up then 3.25m of rolling 200m at 6:27mm / 200m recoveries at 8:49mm, albeit on the treddie (difficult to do on the street as I need to constantly check the distance on the Garmin).
Tek - Nice intervals again, it does seem like a run thats more suited to a treadmill(or track) than out on the road.
Given what you at Stewart have said, I think I'll just keep plodding along at 10:00-10:30s then. Seems to be keeping the achilles more manageable anyway.
IJ - Good luck on avoiding the hangover tomorrow.
Stewart - Hope the foot is better, well done on the run and BB.
Fiona - Nice running, you're really starting to pile the miles in now.
OH - You never know, the flooding might have frozen over this weekend
Hour an hour or so upper body weights and 32x25m swim for me this afternoon. Meant to have a full rest day, but barely slept and needed something to amuse myself with.
Perth parkrun tomorrow. Hoping for a PB and to beat my brother. I'll settle for the latter, although it's unlikely...
IJ hope you manage to survive the 2nd night out
HM, good luck at parkrun tomorrow
Tek, good session on the treadie,
SM, well done with the gym and swim sessions today, hope the underfoot condition in Perth aren't to bad,
Decided to do my 11 MLR I missed on Wednesday, once again the foot was a little achy but didn't get any worse during the run, it was a little slippy underfoot and it was snowing too
Tek & Stewart,
That was the intention and he was looking forwards to it. But unfortunately he's done something to his back. So he wants to go out for a run/walk longer than 3 miles tomorrow which is why I'm not going to it. He's said he wants to go the next Saturday I've got off.
Well done on everyone's training.
Stuart well done on the X-training yesterday, and well done on the parkrun
Stewart well done on the 11m MLR, glad the foot survived ok
HM hope Chris feels better soon
8.5m easy with the club this morning. Tomorrow we're doing a controlled 15m run to test a sports supplement (dissertation study for one of our members).
