Well done Susie...sounds like you worked hard....keep up the good work....we (few) BTers need to stick together..

Hipps...this is a great streak (oo-err misssus) you are on just now...keep going...

WSS...have you deserted us?

SHADES..hope the blisers are getting better..

Me??? knee is a bit bu**ered...did a fast (ish) 2 mile race last night that I really shouldn't have..knee was painful before it and worse now...rest today and probably until Friday at the earliest...bit of a pain though, as times have been coming down for most distances..

race report for 2 miler is on daily training thread..

DF,
I haven't deserted!
Did I mention I got a 10-mile PB at the weekend at just over marathon pace? 1:16:43 - BT at its best!

SJ,
Sorry to disappoint, but the Garmin probably isn't right. If the signal isn't spot on then it drifts around and adds distance. You also may not have run the shortest line.

Well done though! Keep the BT going. Mileage makes smileage!
(I just thought of that!)

SJ is now upping the ante - I'm determined to get faster etc and have had a stronger programme put together by a trainer - haven't actually started it yet as he only showed me the sessions yesterday - and it's yoga night on a Wednesday.

He also did a Rockport Walking Fitness Test with me which has given my V02 Max as 41.889. This would be fantastic as it puts me in the superior category. I can't quite believe it's right though 'cos if it was - I'm sure I'd be alot better at this running lark!

Was due to due my next 10K on May 28th (The Mersey Tunnel Run) however found out a few mins ago that it's been cancelled at the last minute. Absolute cheek - I was looking forward to that one.

SJ,
Not sure what your trainer is advising, but remember that the only way to improve your running is by running.

Mileage makes smileage!

(Don't worry, I'll drop my new catchphrase eventually)

susie
pity about the tunnel run
it sounded good
18/05/2006 at 11:03
not much scenery though
18/05/2006 at 11:16
Oh I dunno - the bottom of the River Mersey!! Good place to find unexploded WW11 bombs apparently!
18/05/2006 at 11:17
Wss - the trainer has also advised running, running and lots more running!

SJ

Hope they stop the cars on the tunnel run

What do they do about the exhaust fumes? Whenever I travel through I make sure all my windows are shut otherwise the fumes are terrible. Would not like to run in them! ANyway, guess you will not find out now.

DR,
Seems they stopped the run, not the cars!

SJ,
I like the sound of your plan!

3.45 mile plod tonight. Very easy pace - ave HR 160. Felt good and enjoyed it (gawd I might be making a habit of enjoying this stuff!)
18/05/2006 at 21:53
Yay for SJ! Keep it going Susie

You could take a rest day Hipps. I've done 25 days in a row. I'm resting tomorrow before IOW

PH

Like WSS says, I would consider taking a break. Let the body rest and recover.

I am going to be following some of my own advice here.

I am having a no run weekend. This comes after 31 days running - one month (my most ever). 255 miles, which averages about 8.25 miles a day. Two reasons for the rest. One it is the start of the big piping competitions this weekend, and so it is a seriously early start in the morning and late home. Secondly I will start my taper for the HM next weekend. A few easier runs over the week, with a few bike rides thrown in so that I am fresh for next Saturday.
