A compeditive runner enjoys the races, looks at statistics and times, they want to constantly improve, these runners follow a dedicated training schedule
A recreactional runner does it to keep fit, for fun, for excercise and health
The times simply display a level of performance or fitness, they state nothing about the motivation, no matter what distance and level of fitness I obtain, I will always be a recreational runner.
