So

Its a new month peeps so hopefully a new turning for those whose April hasn't been great

Greetings comrades on this fine labour day.

SR, what a fantastic report, and an even better race. Really well done. I bet that chocolate covered marzipan tasted good.

not sure of running today. Easy 4 if anything.

Enjoy the Bank Hol.

Paul - hopefully will be labour in more than one way!

My congrats as well for the wonderful Scar Runner!

This morning my other half, in spite of being a holiday AND our wedding anniversary had to work, so I set up the alarm clock to 5am to sneak in a quick 4-miler before he left the house at 6.15, but I slept through it and was woken up by the second alarm at 5.30... so no morning run sadly, it's a real bother to get up and do it, but once one is out I find it really glorious to run early in the am, but for today it's going to be afternoon then.

Have a good Mayday all, waving your red flags.
01/05/2006 at 08:03
Paul I - I like the double meaning of 'labour' in your report. Fingers crossed for you and Jo.

SR - What an utterly fab report, and an awesome race, been waiting for it all day. It has actually confirmed my belief that I really, really want to do 3Peaks. Relax nd recover well, sounds like you need the wine + cake diet for a few days.

Loz - excellent - so you're doing the Todger then?

what: It's p8ssing down with rain here, and Monday is always my easy day, so either an easy 5 or 6 mile run, or an easy 20 or so on the bike
Why: See above
last hard: Friday
Last rest: 7 days

Have a great 1 May everyone. I love it when the bank holiday actually falls on 1 May, makes the UK feel like most other European countries, who know how to do May Day properly.

If I was still in Iceland I'd being doing the "Fyrsta Mai Hlaup 10k" today - a pancake-flat 10k which is followed by traditional Icelandic food for all runners (pizza)

Morning regulars

Well done all racers!

It's reasonably good weather for a bank holiday here - it's only raining a bit!

Hopefully a nice 10k later on - but must think of an outing with the kids first....

SR - a superb run - well done. You must have been very nervous about the first 2 hour 10 cut-off point!! I would have been in a panic (p.s. Mary and I were discussing the run up Skidaw other day with fond memories!).

Pammie, Hippo and FL - well done also to all of you.

What: Day off here too so will do gentle 20km on new route in the forest with some friends. Followed by visit to zoo or aquarium depending on the weather with the little lad.

Scar Running: just read your report, awesome adventure, well done!

Back from run. Thans SiT

Lizzy that race sounds like my type of race with the post race snack. Mmmmmm
01/05/2006 at 08:31
Melissa - oh how could I forget getting up to hear the choir (or staying up all night at a May Ball) and then trying to force a pint of lager down your throat just because the pub was open at 7:00 a.m. Gosh, that really was a lifetime ago, must have done it last in ?1990?
01/05/2006 at 08:35
SR - great report. My legs could almost feel it.

Stellina - happy anniversary :-)

paul I - LOL

What: a.m. 4 miles either tempo or MP; p.m. beginners (c.5½ miles total)
Why: CPH marathon in three weeks minus 1 day
Last hard: FLM? Yesterday?
Last rest: Friday

First day of determined effort to lose 20 lb. I could do it quite easily if a) Mrs Snaps would really rather I didn't b) I didn't have to shop and cook for three or four people who just don't put on excess weight but eat like nobody's business, c) I didn't work at home with the kitchen so close :-)
01/05/2006 at 08:36
a) should read "wouldn't really rather I didn't" :)

Morning

Pammie - well done on your result yesterday. Like the others I think it is pretty good considering what's been happening for you recently. You'll be under 40 soon I'm sure.

SR - well done - your report confirmed to me that fell running is not for me!

Hippo - I don't know how you do it.

Loz - how many lagers????

What: probably just a swim, but I have a feeling the pool might be shut. If it is I'll venture out in the rain later on my bike.
Why: IM training
