My advice would be don't eat 5000 calories a day. Good luck with winning that half marathon.
Scrap the "Hench" side of things if you want to run for a start.
Decide which is important to you, running or looking big/Hench
by no means am i knocking you down here but WINNING a half is a BIG ask and that amount of training you have will be mentally challenging and exhausting for you.

By your own admission, you're already an experienced 3mile runner, and doing a fairly tidy 6-9miles a week.
A couple of weeks of doing that Insanity video, with a couple of extra runs a week, and I reckon you could get pretty hench, as well as smashing the local running scene.
Are you a member of a running club? I would have thought that if you are targetting a win in a half-marathon, that is the starting point.
Which half marathon are you doing Tom? I have been thinking about it and I would be concerned that 1hr 10 mins might not be fast enough to win.
Tom- nice to have ambition, but i feel this may only lead to disappointment. Can you hold 5.20 min/mile for 3 miles and not feel smashed?
As said above, a solid core is important but you will be too exhausted to do your runs properly alongside the insanity work out. If you want to try and look good, do insanity, if you want to border on elite athlete level for your age then run!

Hi Tom - where do you do all your 3 mile races? Or are they 5k parkruns? I can't find you on the parkrun database? 3 miles just seems a funny distance.
And you do all your running now at 8 min miles but can run 5:30/mile for 2 miles - that's pretty fast.
Even taking that 11 mins as an accurate level of your current standard that only converts to about a 1:20 half marathon (with the correct amount of HM training) - that is what the 16 weeks plan is for.
So if you break 1:20 I will be amazed. Sub 1:30 would be a pretty decent time for your first half.
Finally if you are 18 why are you jumping right in at a half marathon - what about 5k or 10k to bed in that 5:30min miling pace and maybe even drive it down to 5 min miling - how about aiming for a sub 15 min 5k - there is a thread on here by Nash who is aiming for that - have a look at his thread and see what real training looks like.
PS Are you religious or did you just forget about Sunday?
