Keeping Pace

Does anyone have any tips for keeping the pace you do on the treadmill to roadruns? It's easy indoors as you can simply set the treadmill but when I go outside who knows?

Currently training for my second Edinburgh 1/2 and would love to cut my time and get below the 2 hr mark.

Thanks.

I simply cannot run as fast outside as I can on a tready.

I'm sorry that's not much help - the only thing I can suggest is trial and error, until you get the feel of it.

I run faster outside than on the treadmill. Ummmm, that is also not much help.

Use a HR monitor and then just maintain the same HR ?

Although you should be able to do that with perceived exertion too.

When it comes to races - they have milemarkers - so you should know how long it takes to do each mile ? Easy.
