Well you might be able to guess that I'm also more than a little fond of the ultimate toast topping (although Vegemite is also fantastic)!!

Seeming as I unwittingly sparked off this accolade to marmite, can I also link it to all the musical threads by reminding you of the immortal line 'But he just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich'.
Extra round of marmite toast to the first person to name the band!

Tim - I sneak bites out of Knorr cubes as a kid, we didn't have Oxo. Apparently it's all down to Umami, say the food technologists. s.

OK Marmite lovers - who has turned Marmite white? This is the big test for a true lover of the brown stuff. (and i don't mean beer!)

OK - here's what you do for white marmite - put large amounts of standard marmite on your toast/bread whatever. Catch the bit that drips through the hole in the bread on a saucer. Whilst munching on the rest of your toast, idly tap the splodge of marmite with a metal teaspoon or end of knife (must be metal). After some minutes (usually about 2 and a half slices of well chewed toast) the marmite on the plat will turn WHITE!! Yes - white Marmite. Still tastes of marmite as well.

Laura, I always thought the lyric was "a bit o' my sandwich" rather than vegamite

Mind you I thought Barbera-anne was Ba Ba Ba - Ba Ba Ba Ram as in sheep

Shows what do I know

Marmite rules!
