2 mile run, 10 mile bike, 2 mile run, im sure youll be faster than me so you wont be last, id guess youd be mid-field.
Have a look on the TeamMK website at the results from Summer Duathlon 1 to get an idea of times.

Carl - can you enlighten us, or give us the link? Was it a falling off incident or some medical survey that says your nuts fall off at over 50 on a bike?

Just seen details of a 10K in Emberton Park, Olney on Sat 5 June - kick off 2.30pm. Have started a thread in events - post there if you fancy coming along! I'll be looking for about 45 min pace.

Tempting - and it can masquerade as a 'family afternoon out in the park'...
No wait - just remembered that the wife's away and I'm on babysitting duty. Never mind - I'll have to save my 45-min 10k till July.

Just looking through forthcoming events and noticed that their is a 3km trail run abound Willen Lake on 12 September. Strangely though, they seem to think that MK is in Hertfordshire!?

Taken from the organiser's website:
"We aim at women and children - but also allow men with their partners or children."
Gee, thanks - but no thanks!
Grrrrrrrrr
(Probably wouldn't have run it anyway - the idea of a 3k race doesn't really excite me. I'm not sure I'm fast enough over that short a distance. And it's less than half the distance of my shortest training runs. So probably not great marathon preparation!
Incidentally, if anyone fancies a day out in Oxfordshire, the Woodstock 12 is on the following Saturday afternoon - 3 laps of 4 miles round the grounds of Blenheim Palace.)

Depending on whether the Arsenal are home that weekend, I might join you at Woodstock SVT.

Nice one, Dr G. Race entry gets you free parking and entry to the grounds, so it's a good one to bring the family and friends to.
But apparently it's not quite as flat as Milton Keynes...

Sorry Nikki if that read like I was having a go at you - not at all. I just get slightly wound up by such races.
It seems slightly patronising that men are only allowed with their partners or children - it's like men are too competitive, so we need to burden them down with family to stop anyone running too fast and spoiling it for the others!

SVT - I tell you why all these ladies only races hack me off no end, it's because they just encourage women away from the housework...
Disclaimer - the above was posted for humourous effect (perhaps only in the eyes of the person posting, admittedly) and is not representative of the views of Mr N Wobbling...
BTW - Have you read the article in RW (not most recent issue but the one before) by a lady saying that she disliked and felt patronised by ladies only races?
