...things I could find helpfull.....

Well I thought I would do one of those 'technical' morning posts and get the balll rolling this weekend. Been away for a few days so just been catching up..off on the lash watching Bmth at Dagenham later, so won't be posting (true professional that I am)

Alehouse - glad LFOTM went well, done it many times - I think a guy called Nat from my training group was doing it, he's Luton AC and must have been up the front!

Zattu - glad to see you are on the way back - looking good!

Me - did 5 x 1 mile this morning, 3 laps of the path around the Poole Park cricket pitch is 1 mile exactly - bit repetative, but good for mental strength! managed 5.24, 5.17, 5.17, 5.17, 5.12 so happy with that.

Bit concerned that I am running the gade valley 17 mile training run sunday morning...better be a good boy tomorrow..

..also found out that I have to do intercounties again next week as someone has dropped out...oh what fun

Have a good weekend!!

Morning

Alehouse  Well done at Last Friday Good run

Simon - Have you done any recently next time if i'm there you have to say hello

NZC  Have you confused me with someone else i've not run since Monday

Went to physio my regular lady has left so i had this guy. Very good ad didn't go gentle with me  No tears to calf but very very knotty it did hurt also notice mmy left calf is much bigger than my right. Apparently this happens if you injure a muscle and once recovered you don't do exercises to stregthen it.. As once injured the muscle shrinks and needs building back up never knew this

What: owt, rest, foam rolling, icing ad enter March's LFOTM
Why: Physio says

Last Hard: The physios hands
Lyrics no

Spet an hour in there some deep tissue massage, electrotheraphy, and to finish off with some icing

Morning

Alehouse: Nice result

Pammie: Ouch

What: Aquathon 10.5K run/1.6K swim have no idea why they do the run first and I spent the whole run holding myself back, run about 47 mins, swim 36 Mins. I actually enjoyed the swim which is a sure sign I wasn't trying too hard. Mind you after nearly a 100 miles on the bike yesterday I'm not too suprised I wasn't trying too hard.
Why: Practice makes perfect
Last Hard: Diving into the sea today
Last Rest: Tomorrow!

Lyrics: Nah

Very stressed about work and can't stop my mind thinking about it.  I think I need to take a day off.  As I will be working most of today (to get some reports written before I'm off on another visit that will require a report on Monday) I think my work at home day on wednesday will be a day off.

Before settling down to work though I have housework that needs doing.  I hate housework.

Afternoon.

25 miles d&d. Meant to do 23-24 but got carried away.

That felt good and i'm feeling good about next weeks 10 miler.

Another week done and all targets met. However we had a night out on Thursday to celebrate a bit of good news on the work front and got carried away. I though this might happen and had a rest programmed for yesterday. Judging by this mornings run there has been no damage done.

Mikael - nice effort

Simon - nice effort there too!!

Mava - all the best tomorrow!

DD - youre "ironing" up by the looks of it - how long till IM?

Evening all,

Best of luck Gobi, and congrats to Rach on 100 park runs!

Simon - looks good. I do well if I can run at half your pace.

Mikael - v impressive. Glad you had fun in the thaw.

DD - very impressive after long ride.

Me? Having a practice weekend for LAMM with son 1 and daughter out-law on (in?) Dartmoor. A v. pleasant run of about two hours. We spend a certain amount of time discussing the route. I need much stronger legs, and I need more cv fitness. Much more. But I think I have survived well enough to be able to have another go tomorrow. Excellent company, superb meal, it doesn't get better than this.

Good luck Gobi!

mava - you're racing tomorrow too aren't you? If so - hope you have a good one.

Good running MM - must have felt positively tropical to you.

Evening,

It's been another insanely busy week at work so I've been looking in but not posting... I'm writing from a hotel room in Blackpool, getting ready to run the Great North Western half tomorrow. No idea what to expect as I feel like I've lost fitness over the last few months rather than gained it, but either way I'll know tomorrow...! This was my first half mara back in 2006 - the medal is still the tackiest I've ever received!

Glad to see that our NZ posters are ok. Nice to see you M, have been wondering how you were getting on.

Good to see JEB, Gobi, Chick and Birkmyre getting back into it - also nice to hear that things are more positive Stickless.

Emzap, I like the sound of your veg experiments! It's been a beetroot week for me too - have drunk almost a pint of it daily for the last 7 days as it's supposed to boost endurance before a race. (It seemed to work for Amsterdam so thought it was worth another shot).

Well run Alehouse!

What: 2 miles-ish easy around Blackpool

Why: Half marathon tomorrow

Last hard: Tuesday

Last rest: Thursday

Lyrics: Oh yes!! Great song, great band!

Good luck tomorrow Mava, Gobi and any other racers.
