Scooby - best not. I might frighten myself :-)

Shades - yes the 30k is my next race.

Scooby - it does make it easier when you know you're not alone, that's why I love these forums :))

Yes I am doing London. I did it last year and desperately want a sub 5 this year (managed 5:11 last year - 1st marathon.) I feel much stronger mentally this year as well so I'm hoping it will come together better....

I think that's a really good idea about a list as I keep forgetting who's training for what marathon...

also a chance for forumites to meet up.

I'll start the list, just copy and paste adding your name.

Have added myself to the list - like tiredgirl would love sub-5 (as that's what my 10 mile and 10k times suggest might be possible) but the marathon is an unpredictable game so as it's FLM will just enjoy the atmosphere and aim to get round.

I'll join the list as I am following a three day plan as well (though a bit modified).

I just had a quick read back - everyone seems to be doing well!

I did do 12 miles last Saturday - that was having taken a week to recover from a mild case of food poisoning last week which meant me missing my long run and a midweek one.

I am due to do an 8 mile race this Sunday, but, my back is not so good today so I will wait and see!

This thread is so valuable to me, even if I don't always post!!!

The legs are ok but I haven't run on them since my 12 miles - I've been in London for the weekend. I'm due to go out tonight so I'll know more then.

It looks like I may have to pull out of the Benfleet 15 cross country event next Sunday because of a sore Achilles/heel. Its not too bad at the moment but I had a lot of trouble with it last year and I don't want to aggravate it then muck up the marathon training.
I did a tempo run yesterday and managed 10.05 min/m but couldn't get faster than that but was pleased with how it felt. It seems strange having so many rest days but its good to run refreshed each time.

HaL - probably not worth risking your achilles, especially in that mud.

tiredgirl - that's good news

I'm like 'Billy No Mates' on that list :-(

You've got all the the others from the sub 5 thread. We'll have to get them on here with your training plan!
23/01/2006 at 16:01
I think there's only Mokina who's following the plan who hasn't posted on here

I did 9.1 miles yesterday (it should have been 10) and felt fine.
23/01/2006 at 16:25
that's Ok Nick, 0.9 of a mile won't make much difference.
