Big G - the main difference in my weekly schedule is that with no races I'm doing all my training at the desired heart rate. When racing, I'm either preparing or recovering from a race and travelling, that leaves only two or three days to try and do any positive training. I'm also not carrying any niggles or injuries now, nor the tiredness from races.
So I am running 6 or 7 days a week at a low heart rate, with maybe just one shorter run at 80% MHR. My weekly mileage for the next few weeks is 69 miles, 60 miles (rest day and Hadd test), 100 miles (Xmas week), 87 miles, then when I'm back at work will be 65 to 80 miles a week. I am going to re write my training plan from January, I want to tweak it a bit.
Good idea to see the physio re your hamstrings, the discomfort could be coming from your back.
Hope you got yourself a nice sharp suit. If not you could always wear your Santa suit .LOL
mamafox - toe is much better thanks, I can still feel it but it's OK.
Well done on the training but please don't forget the stretching, don't want you injured again
Rattler - there's no need to increase the distance of the mid week long run. If you're working that's too much midweek. Yes, to a bit more mileage but just make that an extra easy paced run and you might want to put that in the day before or the day after your long run. And a few races too, a 10 miler maybe, a couple of half marathons and one or two 20 mile races if you can.
SK - one minute is a lot over 5 miles, brilliant running.
Santa 5K run done, and Mrs Big G and I really enjoyed it. Surprisingly the "one size fits all" consume didn't fit too badly
Me limbering up....
On the start line. Beautiful morning for it!
Nice bling, which is now hanging on our Xmas tree
Big G - great photos, just makes me laugh seeing multiple Santas
Nice medal...molly will be after one of those, great idea putting it on the tree.
