For FLM 2004 we've had up to 12 people plodding around Richmond Park for training on a Sunday morning - and we've run with 20 different people over the last 4 months... Generally we keep together in a little 9 and a bit minute mile clump but there have been some much faster runs and runners and some much more relaxed ones too.

For this Sunday, 2nd May - meet at Roehampton Gate, Richmond Park - 9 am.

There'll probably be some one lappers (7.3 miles)

There'll maybe be some two lappers (14.6 miles)

There'll probably be some poeple stopping at Pembroke Lodge for cake!

Better put my name down in case I miss anything!

Is it definitely 7.3 miles round the park ?

I can't make this weekend as I'm off North to see the folks. I'll be up for some in the future. I'm planning a June half if anyone has any ideas.

Can't believe that I've seen nobody since FLM. Can't make Friday either as I'll be on the train.

Cartman - my GPS said it was about that... I've heard estimates between 7.2 and 8... Check out this GPS map that Foo Bar produced - http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/forummessages.asp?dt=4&UTN=36154&srchdte=0&last=1&V=6&SP=

LiamO - sorry - looks like I'm not going to see you again before my big trip! It was a pleasure running with you. Well done on the well-sub-4 in the FLM. Good luck!

Can I come too? I was thinking of doing the Park from home, which makes it around about 11 miles, but if I park in Kingston gate car park and run to Roehampton from there, and then back to the car park after one lap, it should be about the same distance.

Cartman, it's between 7.3 and 7.5 miles depending on who you talk to. I used the very inexact science of measuring by driving around the road (7 miles) and then adding on a bit because the path is a bit further out than the road.

Will we be doing clockwise or anti-clockwise?

Hollywood,

have a great trip. I really enjoyed our runs and congrats on your own FLM.

I made a lap of RP to be about 7.4 miles with my Nike SDM.

Thanks for RP distance advice. I have been running it for a couple of years now, and have through a process of elimination/comparison throught that it is ~7.3 miles.

Just a pity that 3 laps is not quite 22 miles !!

Try running on the trail paths whenever they appear (there's a lovely springy one just after Richmond Gate if you're going clockwise), that should add on the desired 0.1 mile for 22 miles! How accurate do you really need to be after that sort of distance!

LiamO - I'll log back on occasionally and I'll expect to hear even more tales of glory

Anal alert! Anal Alert!

Someone's rearranged our list in alphabetical order!
26/04/2004 at 14:08
4.5 days left of my job and guess who's rearranging paper clips?
26/04/2004 at 14:10
You're not looking for sympathy, are you?
26/04/2004 at 14:13
This is a shame - I tend to do RP on Saturdays alone and would welcome a bit of company. have fun though you lot - maybe I'll tag along some other time.

My GPS comes up as 7.25 ish following the yellow brick road (the main path).

Is it easier going anti-clock wise? I've only ever ran clockwise and find the hill after Robin Hood a killer - especially as I'm up to 2 laps!

Well-spotted Destiny; keep up the good work Hollywood, said on behalf of librarians everywhere. Although to be truly anal you should have split the list up into pace classes, and alphabetically within these.
26/04/2004 at 14:18
Lol Kath! He's gonna do it!

Destiny - Heading off around the world travelling for a year isn't all fun you know. There's all those bars and beaches and I bet they'll need putting in alphabetical order too.

AndyH - start the campaign for Saturday mornings - we've done a few of those in the past - e.g. on Feb 14th when Destiny begged me to join her for a couple of laps
