What to eat after running

I often run in the evening and get home at about 20:00.

I feel hungry when I get back but I don't want to pile weight on (who does really - weight is only ballast!). Therefore I do concern myself with calories.

What's the advice on food after running?

I generally have beans on toast  when I get back from training.

Dependent on time of day and what you've done versus how long before sleep. All will be contributing factors but get it down as soon as possible after the run for optimal recovery. Stacks of stuff in previous RW's and no doubt under nutrition on this site
