Glad to say entries are now open for this historic race. Gareth Buffet makes a return as race organiser (so much better than that last chap) along with Y Fenni Tri Club who are taking the race over after my club decided they didn't want to promote the event any more.

Most of the old organising team are still involved this year, and at the moment all arrangements & routes are the same as last year. Lloyd opened the entries last Friday & its already a quarter full, only 114 place so likely to be  a sell out again.

Any Pirates coming to give this course another bash? Seren, Pingu, & Pebble have raced in the past.

I'm in!  It's the only race I've ever finished and said never again, so of course I'm doing it again.  Be good to have a good pirate turn out this year.

is that a threat ??

woooooooh!! Rafiki sounds more like a dare from what I have heard of the course...

Anybody up for meeting up and riding the Llangynidr switchbacks when the weather gets a bit better?  (yes, I know that's a different race but I have already signed up for that one too!)

yes i am if you don't mind waiting at the top.....I have never tried that route over the mountains.......bad enough in a car

Seren, I think it will be the other way round. I walked up some of it last year on our way to visit the Chartist caves and that was bad enough. I think the only way I am going to make it up on race day is with plenty of prior experience.

Plus it will be fun won't it? In that kind of Oh!! god I am going to die kind of way.

Where's Broke?  I'm sure he thoroughly enjoyed this race last year.

Raf, you not tempted by a trip to Wales?

Duda, I use the Llangynidr switchbacks for training ... not that I've been on a bike in over a month ... but I have good intentions to when the weather gets better.  Last year that was about May.

I was there just before Christmas!! Besides, I'm not sure my Dogtag insurance would cover me!

I did say I wasn't entering too many races this year, but .............

That honour is normally reserved for Pingu

Can I use a swim bouy?? Don't like pool swims

Pingu, met you poolside last year (Tim), glad to hear you're racing this year.  Raf, it's a great race.  Don't bring your best wheels, though.

Thinking of it would suit my plan. Those who have done it what's it like ? Would you recommend it?

timebikes, it's a great race, very tough.  The bike has two major climbs and road surfaces are bad.  The run is mainly off-road (some of it very hilly and potentially muddy).  Challenging to say the least, but one to tick off your list.

Raf....I knew the race director last year and I tried all ways to be allowed a pullbuoy but he still insisted no....

so i just had to go and make a splash in the slowest lane and survived.......just...

this is an awesome race......really is amazing.........
